The Revelation

The time when I heard my dad's words was something that I could bear. We don't even know each other, but for some reason, I just met him like we've known each other for years. My mom wanted to slap my dad's face with her own bare hands, and I asked her, "Mom, what really happened?'. But my mom replied, telling me, "He left us, he never showed up".

"When the time I was pregnant on czary, your dad was drunk on the nearby balcony. But while he was drunk, he told me that he was having an affair with another woman. I never thought about what he said, and I thought he was lying. But no, he didn't. He never changed, a single bit, he promised me, but I was tired of his excuses, and here I am, making my own decision to leave him was the best thing I did".

Dad never spoke a single thing, because he couldn't speak anymore. But he was tired, until his last sentence said, "Though I may not be a good father, but I hope you have a good family when you grow up". As he spoke those sentences, he died. I never think of crying, I feel no connection with him. All I could think of was anger, and anger. While mom opened the letter, he saw dad's letter, making us confused as she never told us what was behind the letter.

As we sat on dad's coffin, we were shocked to know that he had no family, I had no grandma and grandpa, and his mistress was in an affair with another man. Yet I said no word, thinking that we cared for him. Dad's friends came along and gave condolences, and Mom told me to be close with my cousins, along with my dad's side. They were kind to us, but we still don't want to forgive Dad after what he did to Mom.

Mom went to the bank and gave the letter from the bank, which we never expected that since dad had passed away. He gave my brother and me 10 million cash for each of us after 10 years of not being by his side. While mom had been given free life insurance, healthcare, and 20 million cash from dad's bank account. But mom only saves the least of it, for our education, financial needs, and food. Though mom was stubborn after what dad did to us, she still thinks about us.

"Dear, study hard for yourself. Then someday if you are in high school, you will learn how to be independent. I hope you won't have the same situation as mama, okay?". Mom said to me with a smile on her face, saying that. "Learn to love yourself, and choose the right path. Let your heart decide".

During the funeral, tears were nothing for me. But still, I'm curious what's behind the letter that Dad gave to us. Mom was silent seeing my dad buried. But as we got back home, mom's face became pale, as light as a ghost, with black eyes, and a sad expression. "Why, why now?", said Mom. As she said to us, we realize that even if Dad cheated on Mom, she could never forget how they loved before the situation happened.

When I saw mom's situation, I promised myself to never love any man in my own life. To treat myself with respect, and learn to love myself in a very young age.
