Chapter 37

1234 Words

-PIPPA- Rough sheets. Antiseptic smell. Fluorescent lights. A hospital. "Hello, beautiful." My head turned to the side, finding Aaron sitting on a chair beside my bed. He stood and came to stand by the bed, his hair mussed, his gaze soft. "You have no idea how much I missed those beautiful blue eyes." His hand combed through my hair. "How…" I started, my voice rough. My throat felt like sandpaper. Aaron reached for the bedside table, poured a glass of water with a straw, and handed it to me. "Here, drink this," he said, helping me sit up and placing some cushions behind my back. I took a few sips, the cool liquid refreshing my dry mouth, then set the glass back on the bedside table. "Where am I?" My voice rasped as my eyes wandered over the beige walls.
