Dr. John Zurich sat in his laboratory, tears streaming down his face as he stared at the monitor in front of him. The news was devastating - his children, Michael and Michelle, were both suffering from a rare and incurable genetic disease. They had only a few weeks to live.

Desperate to save his children, John threw himself into his work, determined to find a cure. He spent every waking hour in the laboratory, pouring over research and trying every possible treatment he could think of.
