Chapter 36

1423 Words

Arianna When I saw Carson standing with Aiden, my heart sank. I knew who Carson was; he was more dangerous than these wolves realized. He regularly employs my family for jobs—sometimes to gather information on rival packs, but mostly to destroy smaller packs so he can swoop in and "rescue" them. That's how he built the pack he now leads. I recalled the last job I had for him. It was supposed to be a simple seduction job to extract information from another Alpha. Carson wanted me to be a blonde bombshell, a Jayne Mansfield type. That was his specific request for someone to accompany him to an Alpha retreat. I remembered that clearly because I had to look up who Jayne Mansfield was. Plus, it was the first time I was asked to shift into a pinup. I thought it would be a fun look for me.
