CHAPTER 3

Claus marched into the king's chamber with a glint of mischief in his oceanic blue eyes as he forged towards the throne that sat at the vast end of the chamber. The impression created by the chamber's interior decorations was lit, it spilled out a word: luxury. A sense of graciousness pervaded the high ceilings, lit by the golden chandelier which flowed down, and hung on the high ceilings. The walls were papered blue. Fluorescent lights shone on an ivory ground, the paneling all just light oak, glowed softly, stairs of polished oak, their baluster ornately carved, led upwards in a long straight sweep, then divided into two, both arms leading to the hallway of rooms on the second floor. He gazed at the cotton red rug that spread down from the throne that sat on a platform towered by over five steps. The throne was enticing, it was enticing to everyone in the moon pack, everyone wanted to be the alpha deep in their hearts but were forever silent in fear. He walked with utmost eloquence, dressed in a blue Royal suit with a white inscription of the moon pack. He took a step and then another, repeating the same exercise as he halted at the last step, his tall figure settling on the throne rapidly. “You can't yet sit on the throne.” A voice chimed from behind as he straightened his body immediately alert as his father, Alpha Roberto, walked in. He was dressed in a green royal suit with white linings, his eyes— dark and luminescent. His hair which was midnight black flowed down to his shoulders. Claus bowed down with a pose of respect towards his father as his chin rose, “Good day father hope you had a good night of rest,” “Of course I did, my son.” His father, Alpha Roberto smiled broadly with the edges of his lips deepening on his oval diamond-shaped face, and midnight black hair that flowed down to his neck, through in-depth insights, one could see Claus took the looks of his father. He settled on the throne, his high-profile sitting on the throne which had its edge carved out of pure gold, the softest plush fabric that made him feel like his body was sinking. Silence blanketed the atmosphere, this went on for some minutes as Claus’s eyes glistened, “I just wanted to check up on you.” “Enough of the pretense, Claus.” His father's voice chimed back as he paused in his tracks as the voice prodded further, “I know how badly you want to become the alpha of the moon pack and also sit on the throne.” “You can't become the alpha of the moon pack without your Luna by your side,” Alpha Roberto declared. “But why father, why??” Claus thundered with storms of veins casting at the side of his head, his tone sounded dangerous as he tamed his rage before his father. “Then make research if she is in another world, why not meet a wizard or a witch who could cast a locating spell on your Luna and also teleport you to wherever she is,” He continued. “But why go through this stress to become the alpha?” Claus queried. “It's the moon goddess's will,” His father's reply was rapt and stern. “I'll take my leave father,” He bowed as he spun striding out of his father's chambers, his shoes seemed to make a noise as he walked, one that made it obvious that he was angry. His breathing turned intense as rage grew wild in his heart like wildfire his fury and anger were now let loose. “Curse the moon goddess,” He snarled, walking away. “So, how was it??” A voice asked as he turned back just to see the face of Zed, his childhood friend who had deep green eyes and curly black hair, his expression as bright as daylight itself. “The usual,” Claus muttered, walking out into the hallway as he opened a door at a side with a golden knob. He clasped the knob in his grip and twisted it, walked into the room, and went straight to the window of the dark room. He jumped out and could feel his lungs wallowing as his lips chimed open, a long-drawn howl escaped his lips. A white whirlwind dropped right out of the sky descending on him, trees whirled and leaves danced all to the rhythm of the wind. Dark clouds swept down from the North, thunder roared, escorted by the ear-blasting sounds of lightning. His clothes fell as the wind relieved. He howled again in his wolf form which seemed to be a dark-furred wolf with blue eyes, his howling was ear-deafening. “Shifting into your wolf form won't make you the Alpha, it won't lessen your anger, you know.” A voice said behind him as he turned. “Yeah I know, but I can't just resist the urge, my anger heightened to the brim and yes, I had to turn.” He replied as he transformed back into his human form— stark naked. “Go get dressed, I have a solution to your problems,” Zed, his close friend, had said as the last seven words of his speech made Clau happy. “What??” “Well I know of a wizard, a great and powerful one at that, that might be able to locate your Luna and also teleport you to and fro from her world down back to ours,” He explained. “What's his name?” Claus asked. “Shawano,” Zed replied. “Shawano?” Claus exclaimed puzzled
