I don’t get much sleep that night. The panic over what Jesse had to promise Lyons on my behalf, compounded with my own s****l frustration over not getting that final night with Jesse, keeps my head spinning. At least he didn’t take a blood oath. I’m surprised, though glad, that Lyons didn’t insist on it.  Still, I know Jesse well enough to know that he’s a man of his word; it’s no small thing that he made the deal he made. If a day really does come that Lyons is able to elevate Jesse to the throne of Signa, will Jesse really make Lyons King of Hammerlocke? If he does, will all the pain and suffering that ensues be my fault? And how bad were those wounds of Jesse’s, anyway? All I saw was blood; I wasn’t able to make out the actual wound.
