Battle Mage

Chapter 6: Star Spirit Fruit

After the group battle, the female archer suddenly raise its bow to Lara's hiding place.

"The friend overthere, show yourself. What are you doing sneaking on us." The female archer coldly called.

Lara was surprised and embarassed. She didn"t expect to be found out and be called sneaking. She really has no such habits. Feeling that it was really her, that the female archer called, she slowly step out from her hiding place

The group was astonished to see a almost miserable burned figure. The charred person walked in front of then slightly raised both hands signaling no malice. The figure is a woman with its clothes burned, her tangled, and the face was obscured of dust and dirt, looking like a poor miserable person.

Lara coughed in embarassment. "Hello," she started. "I'm Lara. It's not my intention to snoop around. I just wanted to ask for help, but seeing you all battling, I feel it is rude for me to barge in suddenly and I might be implicated so I hid. I was planning to show myself after, I just didn't expect for you to find me first."

The archer laughed suddenly, and Lara looked at her confused. It seems she hadn't said anything laughable.

The archer found Lara confused appearance more amusing. Chuckling she answered. "My friend you never hide your presence, when you are 100 meters away, we already felt you. So its funny that you think your hiding."

Realization dawned to Lara. She never thought that the group already felt her when she thought she hid herself away.

"I just want to ask direction out of this forest." Lara asked. She just can't question them of what's and where's of this world, for they might find her suspicious of being ignorant of common knowledge.

"I'm not familiar of this forest and somehow got lost, it's been days, and I haven't made it out." Lara implored.

The archer walked in front of her, as for the others, they settle their prey. Lara saw their fast handling of their prey, and the mage wave her hand, the leopard corpse vanished.

Lara was shocked, she can conclude that the mage had a space. How convenient if she also had one.

" Lara is it. I'm Wendy Clarkstone. The fastest way out of the forest is there. But without a map, you will stumbled to some beast lair, it would be very dangerous for you. With your level 1 warrior strength, you will die without a doubt. I even wonder how you made this far reach of the Green Pass Forest." Wendy pointed to the right as she replied to Lara's question.

Hearing this, Lara was nodded. 'Level 1 warrior? It must be because of the energy and that film that broken last night, it means I became a warrior, still level 1. Not bad for now. Green Pass Forest, it must be the name of this place.'

"You have my gratitude." Lara thankfully said to the other. Gazing at Wendy and to her group, looking that they might not be villain for they appear not caring for her. Or they think she's not strong enough to pose a threat to them. Thinking to this, she hesitating whether to acquire more information.

"I wonder if you have a map, I would like to purchase it. I will change it with this fruit." Lara show a red fruit, she hidden to her pocket, as for the others, they are in the bag of leaf carried on her back. This one was suppose to be her lunch.

Wendy looked at the red fruit and was amazed. "Star Spirit Fruit!" she exclaimed. "You wanted to exchange a map for Star Spirit Fruit. Are you a fool."

'Star Spirit Fruit, so that's the name of this fruit.'

"I know its sudden but I don't have anything on me. You see I manage to acquire this with greet difficulty. I moving to get out of the forest, when I stumbled upon a fire breathing beast, which burns all of my property, then accidentally crossed a territory of a snake which guarding this Star Spirit Fruit, luckily I plucked this one and made a run. I only have this, its better to exchange to something that could help me get out of the forest first." Lara pitifully said.

"Really?" Wendy exclaimed in excitement. "Do you know the value of Star Spirit Fruit? Though it is valuable to practitioners only below level 6, it is still a treasure people fought for. Your just going to trade it for a map?" Wendy asked unbelieving.

"Is this that valuable?" Lara pretendingly ask. Of course, she had an inkling that is valuable, it made her strength doubled. As Wendy said, became a level 1 warrior though she wasn't clear about the stages of strength.

"What are you getting excited about Wendy?" the female mage walked to them.

"Hey, Amy looked at this." Wendy motioned the female mage name Amy to see the Star Spirit Fruit.

"Star Spirit Fruit?" Amy gazed at the fruit and to Lara. "What are you doing showing it? Though with our strength we no longer needed this mid-tier treasure, but it is still a tempting treasure, aren't you afraid we will snatch it from you." Amy calmly stated.

Lara blinked at Amy. Of course she thought of that, but looking at their gear, their strength, the way they acted, it doesn't look like they will be greedy for tresure.

"I don't think you will do that. You people don't look like bandits. I believe to my intuition that you are people with conduct and principles." Lara softly answered.

Hearing her reply Amy raised her brow. "So what this all about?"

"I wanted to exchange this for a map. I wanted to get out of the Green Pass Forest, but I don't have a map." Lara answered.

"An exchanged?" Amy stared at Lara. "It looks like you not only need a map but other essentials too. How about I trade you 10 gold coins, a dagger, a bag, clothes and shoes, for your Star Spirit Fruit?"

Lara let out a satisfied smile after hearing Amy. Amy was very thoughtful upon seeing her plight. She nodded and they made an exchange.

Lara thank the group as she made her way.
