Starting Over

Athena POV:

*alarm clock sounds goes off*

My eyes snap open as I quickly reach to turn off my alarm. I groan as I read the time. My body screams at me to stay in bed. I have to get up and leave my hometown and my abusive ex-boyfriend. This will be the first time I will be leaving my hometown of Gold Lake. It’s a beautiful city. I’m heading south to my parents to my parents hometown Silver Moon. Last month my parents were killed in a car accident. Since I am still seventeen I have to live with an adult. So I’ll be going to live with my Gram. I grabbed my bags and my guitar then I started to make my way to my car. When I saw Noah my Ex- Boyfriend sitting by my car.

“Athena, where are you going?” Noah asked, I could smell alcohol on his breath and a sweet honey smell, that made me mad.

“Why do you care? You were with her again?” I said

“It’s not like that Athena” Noah said getting upset.

“I’m leaving Noah, this will be the last you will ever see me” I said

“You’re not leaving me!” Noah yelled

“Noah please get out of my way” I said

“You’re not leaving me!” He yelled again

“Noah- I’m leaving” I wasn’t even able to finish my sentence before Noah slapped me.

I gasp as I ran to my car. And back out of my driveway and sped away. Hot steamy tears running down my face as I drive out of the city limits. Here’s to a new journey.
