Her Determination

Chapter 3

    After days of us all running.  We finally begin near another pack lands. Over the course of the last few days I have learned a lot about my new pack members and have been thankful to have them with me.  We have all decided that Layla is to be my beta. The others actually asked me if she could me. I was more than willing to have her be.  Especially after she stepped up to help me when we were escaping.  

We need to watch out. We are getting close I can feel it. I mindlink the others

What do you want to do when we reach the border?  Layla mindlinks me

I want everyone to stay behind me. We are going to wait until they approach us. No one is to speak until I tell you it is safe to.  We do not know what pack we are going to be reaching and I do not want any trouble. We need to figure out where we are. I respond back. 

Okay they all respond to me

    We finally reach the border after another two miles. I stop right before the threshold. We all shift back and put on the clothes that we washed in the river the day we became a pack.  In a matter of minutes there are warriors in front of me.  I hold of my hands to show them I mean no harm. Three of them shift back and go behind the trees to grab clothes. Once they come out they have basketball shorts on.  

    "What do you want?" asks the man who I assume is in charge but is in no way the alpha. 

    "We mean no harm. We are seeking information and shelter for a few days before we move on." I respond

    "What information? Why shelter? Where are you all from?" ask the man. 

    "I am Emmerlie Rivers and this is my newly formed Survivors Pack. We are seeking information on where we are at.  We were all taken by rouges from our homes. We have recently escaped our captors and are now figuring out our next steps.  May we please speak with your alpha about this further?" 

    "My name is Ryan. I will reach out to Alpha Andrew and see about your request." 

    "Thank you"

After a few minutes. Ryan seems to have finished mindlinking his alpha and escorts us to the pack house.  He tells me that I can meet with the Alpha in a few moments and that the rest of my pack may make themselves comfortable in the pack house.  

Layla, please watch out for the girls and do not get into any trouble. I am going to talk to the alpha. 

I mindlink her before I turn and walk out the door to follow Ryan. 

Will do Alpha she responded back 

    Once we reach the main house he walks me up to the main house and shows me in to the Alpha's office.  Once I enter I find a large man sitting behind a desk and to his right stands another fairly built man. 

    "Hello, you must be Emmerlie Rivers. Is that correct?" the alpha asks me.

    "Yes, you are correct. I presume you are Alpha Andrew?" I respond back. 

    "Yes" the man says after chuckling and then goes on to say, "this is my beta Daniel. How can we help you? I heard that you and some other girls were abducted by rouges and recently escaped?" 

    "That is correct. We were all taken under different circumstances and at different times. We have no idea where we are at.  As soon as we were free. We ran and never looked back.  Eventually we stopped and formed a new pack since the others either no longer have a pack or were not from a pack we decided it would help us to stick together.  After, many days of travel your pack is the first we have came across.  We are wondering if you could give us shelter for a few days while we form a plan on what our next steps are as well as some information  on the surrounding area.  Since we were all drugged we have no idea where we were taken too and how far from our homes we actually are." 

    "Emmerlie, I am sorry to hear about all of your troubles. I do not mind helping you and your pack members in any way.  Do you mind telling me how you all escaped and where you are from first though?" 

    "Sure, I am the daughter of Alpha David of the White Water Pack in Michigan. I was taken the night of my 16th birthday by rouges.  I was drugged and in out of conciseness for I believe days before I woke up. I was there for about 2 months before the night we escaped.  I was losing hope quickly and felt like I was going to die form the torture, starvation, and poison.  Then I heard Shayla, my wolf, tell me to fight.  I honestly thought she was already dead.  Once she said that though I knew I had to fight.  When the guard came in to give me food I noticed he made a mistake.  He left my cell door open.  I took that as my chance.  While he was distracted with trying to force feed me and slap me. I kept yanking at my shackles until they each pulled free from the wall. I snapped his neck.  Took his keys. Undid my shackles then ran to the next nearest cell. Where I found my now beta, Layla, was.  I helped her gave her the keys and instructed her to help the others.  Luckily she did as I told her too. While she was releasing the others . I focused on remembering the layout of the house.  Once I remembered. I walked down the hall. The first guard to spot me came at me when he heard me shifting.  I fought with him but almost couldn't win.  I gave control to Shayla and she finished him.  Next thing I knew we fought the next three guards. When she finally gave me back control they were all dead.  I walked back to check on the others.  Who were all released and instructed them to find anything in the house of use before we left.  We grabbed anything and everything we could pile in to the backpack we found. Then I told them to leave the house while I set the house of fire. Walked outside. We shifted and left." 

    "Wow that is quite the story young lady.  I am amazed at how strong you all are. Especially you.  It is amazing you were able to even break free let alone kill 5 men after that."  

    "Thank you, I appreciate you saying that.  I am just thankful we all made it out of their alive." 

    "I completely understand young lady.  Now that we know where you are from and I can tell you are not lying.  I would like to again offer my assistance.  First, I will tell you that we are currently in California.  I will have rooms set up in the pack house for your pack members. You are welcome to stay here in the main house.  We have a guest room for when other packs visit you can use." 

    "Thank you, you don't know how much that means to us. I will let them all know." I smile at him appreciatively.  

    "You may want to contact your family as well and let them know the situation.  I remember your father.  He is a great leader. I am sure though as a father he is worrying right now about you." 

    "I think you are right, I will contact them when I get a chance." 

    "After you do that. You can go shopping for the things you need that way you feel comfortable here during your stay." 

    "I appreciate that but it won't be necessary. We do not want to take advantage of your kindness." I begin to tell him before I am cut off by a lovely voice. 

    "Do not even think of refusing him young lady.  We are happy to help you and I love shopping so this gives me an excuse to get away for a bit." says who I presume to be the Luna. 

    "Yes, as my wife Elizabeth said. We are happy to help." he said as he smiled at his mate

    "Thank you. I appreciate you bother you help Alpha Andrew and Luna Elizabeth." I said to them.

    "Oh no dear please just call us Andrew and Elizabeth.  I have a feeling we are going to be a lot of each other. No need to be so formal." Luna .. I mean Elizabeth said before she turning to leave the room.

I just stared after her a minute not sure what to say next before remembering my pack members. I turned to Andrew then spoke again. 

    "Thank you again.  I am going to go now and check on pack members.  They have been through a great deal.  I do not want to leave them alone for to long.  I will see you later tonight."

    "Oh, Emmerlie before you leave. What did you say your pack name was again? I want to register it with the council." Alpha Andrew asks me

    "The Survivors Pack" I reply before leaving the room.
