ZARA POV Jeremy pressed his body low to the ground, inching closer to the edge of the woods. I followed closely behind, my smaller size allowing me to move with ease through the undergrowth. We were nearing the parking lot, where their vehicles were parked. The parked cars were a sad sight. They sat up on blocks, their tires missing, exposed to the elements. Someone was scavenging through them, their movements quick and desperate. At the end of the line, a lone figure stood guard, a wolf among the wreckage. A lookout, no doubt. Luckily, the wind was blowing in our favour, carrying the sound of our approach away from the scavengers. Hell no, the rogues had found the vehicles. It thankfully looked like Jeremy would not be driving me to my father. Hopefully Hero hadn't left anything behind
