'Jamawar' is also called 'Kin Khwab'. Nowadays Mughal 'jamawar' has a distinctive characteristic of the use of gold and silver 'saree' with silk. The 'jamawar' weaving technique is often defined as embroidery weaving or loom embroidery. This technique can also be applied on other fibres but 'jamawar' is generally restricted to rich silk threads. Suman's Katan silk 'saree' was also very beautiful and heavy. Katan is also called Pot-thans. Pot thans are lighter in textures (lower thread count) than other silk fabrics but closely woven in silk and all or certain portions of the patterns are in gold or silver zaris.
