Mallory reached the end of the tavern, checking up the side of it. No one was there. She was torn. Did she keep moving or remain where she was and possibly learn more information? She peered around the corner at the three men. The one who’d been pressed against the wall started to move away. The first man spun, catching him. “It was a trick. I knew it.” “It wasn’t.
