Mallory and Ryan returned to the wagon to find people lined up for the food Brodie was cooking while he spoke to one of the villagers about some of the recipes he’d love to have. The simple campfire, that had been between the wagon and tents, was now twice the size with two cast iron hotplates set up over coals. Brodie beckoned them forward, serving them breakfast as he nodded towards the man he’d been talking to. “He’s got half a dozen recipes I can have if we can take Velkden back. Said they’re no use to him and that you saved his wife’s life.
