Mallory looked through the small pile of clothes set to one side, leaving the spells till last. There were two dresses. One a pale blue and the other a deep red. There were also two pairs of black trousers, a brown pair and a beige shirt. Returning the clothes to the chest, Mallory picked up one of the scrolls. She frowned when she read it. “Beacon. What is that for?”
“It creates a column of light to mark your location,” Danae said. “It is often used to show sailors the way home in bad weather.” She took the spell from Mallory. “This one will only last for ten minutes, but higher level ones last longer. Some of them for hours. Levelling this one up will also make it last longer.” She returned the spell.
