Lorraine's eyes opened to pitch black, darkness that did not allow her to see even a glimpse of light or make out any features despite her squinting her eyes hard in hopes of seeing something, anything that would give her a better understanding of where she was. She knew she was in a bed, tucked in like she crept in and did so herself, but her last memory did not place her anywhere within proximity of a bed.
