When Ao Xi returned to the camp with the little girl wrapped in tiger skin, his companions were still waiting for him. Seeing him carrying the girl, they were momentarily stunned, then remembered the "monster" girl from yesterday. Ao Xi glanced at them and said, "I'm taking her back to town to see a doctor and also to send Hu back to recuperate. If you are planning to enter the mountains, do not go too deep." A hunter sighed, "Ao, if you leave, we'll be like a ship without a captain! Let's go back together! After all, we have two injured people to take care of." Ao Xi nodded, "Alright." The hunters began to pack up the camp, intending to leave early and return to Fu'an Town where they lived. Ao Xi brought a cart and, after loading the supplies, laid down his own bedding before placing the little girl on the cart. The girl curled up, watching the busy people around her, recalling vague fragments of memories in her mind. As the hunters packed their belongings, they curiously asked, "Ao, is this girl really the legendary wolf girl?" Ao Xi glanced at the girl and smiled faintly, "Most likely! At the very least, she has lived with wolves for many years, that much is certain." "Why didn't the wolves just devour her? Instead, they raised her!" "In reality, wolves don't attack humans without reason. Unless they sense danger, they won't easily provoke a conflict." "This time, Ao, you've truly encountered an extraordinary event, venturing into the wolf's den and coming back unharmed, and even bringing back a girl. Isn't this a case of good deeds being repaid?" As they chatted, they tidied up their things and pushed their respective carts onto the road, discussing the girl's situation along the way. The girl lying on the cart did not fall asleep, gazing at the people around her with pure eyes. They looked just like her, and she could even understand some of what they were saying, but it was strange to her that they all walked on two legs. How did they manage that? As she watched the receding forests in her eyes, tears welled up, but she did not let them fall. She had lived here for many years, and the lengthy memories made her forget how to speak, her own name, and that she should walk on two feet like the hunters. Her memories only contained the wolves that saved her from the brink of death and the wolf pack she grew up with. Was she going to leave all that behind? She didn't want to, because without them, she would have died in the wilderness long ago. Not only did the wolf pack shelter her, but they also taught her how to survive in the mountains, giving her a safe home, and even defended her with their lives. Especially the lead female white wolf, when she first joined the pack, it had just learned to hunt, and they practically grew up together. She had a deep bond with it, as it was like family to her. She blinked, looking at the diminishing forests and increasing houses, feeling fearful. She curled up tightly in the blanket, unwilling to look at this environment that was both vaguely familiar and so strange to her. For the first time in a very long time, she felt uneasy, a kind of inexplicable fear invading her soul. She was a wolf who had left the wolf pack, a lonely wolf! The nature of a wolf was deeply ingrained in her. When Ao Xi pushed the cart into Fu'an Town, it drew curious glances from the locals. Fu'an Town was not large, and it only took the time for a cup of tea to walk from one end of the town to the other. Therefore, the people who lived there were familiar with each other, and any small matters were quickly known throughout the town. They were curious about the person lying on Ao Xi's cart, but fortunately, as soon as the hunters entered the town, they went straight to their own homes, and the onlookers followed them to inquire. It was only when they reached a small adobe house that Ao Xi smiled and walked to the side of the cart, lifting the blanket covering the girl and carrying her into his house. Even though the girl had her head covered, she still peeked through the gap. She was curious about this world, but couldn't help feeling that this was not where she belonged. She felt that she belonged with the wolf pack. Ao Xi entered the room and placed the girl on his bed, then retrieved the blanket from the cart to cover her. "I'll go fetch the doctor for you. Stay here and don't move! Do you understand? Your injuries are serious, and any carelessness could cost you your life." The girl looked at him blankly, not sure how to react, even finding it difficult to fully understand what he was saying. Seeing her reaction, Ao Xi felt a bit worried, but could only shake his head helplessly. He left his house and immediately went to find Mrs. Wang next door, instructing her to take care of the girl, before seeking out the doctor. He even felt a bit apprehensive, concerned that the young lady might rend his well-maintained attire into tatters. He could only gesture towards himself and then towards her, saying, "Humans must wear clothes! You are now a human, no longer a wolf. Will you obey?" The young girl glanced at the clothes on him, then at the peculiar items in his hands. Though she did not quite comprehend why he insisted on dressing her in those cumbersome garments, she did not resist either. It was only while dressing her that Aoxi had to turn his face aside. Growing up, he had never seen a girl's naked body before! After much struggle, Aoxi finally managed to dress her and then went out to invite the doctor in. As soon as they entered the room, the girl suddenly leaped up, vigilantly observing the elderly man carrying a wooden box. The doctor, taken aback by her actions, had encountered many girls before, but none had displayed such a stance! If it weren't for her human-like attire, he might have immediately classified her as a canine. Seeing the fierce expression on the girl's face and her continuous growling, Aoxi also worried about alarming the doctor. He swiftly ran to the bedside, embraced her, and soothingly whispered, "He is the doctor, here to treat your injuries. Behave and do not cause a scene!" The girl glanced at him, seeming to grasp his meaning, and then obediently leaned against him. The doctor, observing their strange behavior, couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle. Aoxi, whom he had watched grow up, when did he get married? His young wife's behavior was indeed peculiar! The doctor sat down by the bed, took her pulse, assessed the girl's injuries, and smilingly said to Aoxi, "Young man, your wife has suffered some internal injuries, but with the prescribed medicine, she will recover soon. Although her rib is slightly cracked, fortunately, there is no displacement, and coupled with her robust physique, she will be fine after resting for some time!" Aoxi hurriedly explained, "She is not my wife," his face blushing. The girl didn't understand their conversation but found Aoxi's suddenly handsome face akin to a flower blooming in the spring forest. She then nuzzled his face twice with her head, much like how wolves show affection. The doctor, with a knowing expression, thought to himself, "You sly boy, keep pretending!" Aoxi, taken aback by the girl's sudden intimacy, felt bewildered. However, upon seeing the expression in the doctor's eyes, he once again felt that even if he were to jump into a river, he couldn't wash away the awkwardness. After prescribing some medication for the girl, the doctor left. Aoxi, gazing at the obediently lying girl on the bed, only then realized that he hadn't just picked up a wolf-girl but also a big trouble. How would he deal with her in the future? How would she survive in this unfamiliar environment?
