Chapter 8 - Morning After

Derek and I are both quiet morning people, neither expecting the other to speak. I enjoy his energy, not off-the-walls, but practical. Like mine. When he wakes me up, he hands me my bra and brewed coffee with a calm smile. I smile back and thank him. Today is the day. Derek drops me off of my dorm building on the way to freshen up and change out of last night’s clothes. We pick up tots from the food truck, our earliness eliminating the line, before heading downtown to the business building belonging to Oliver’s family. It’s always busy on these roads in the morning.
