He took my sweaty arms into his, shaking them normally.
Normally.
That was the keyword.
But… why didn’t any of this seem normal though?
My goddamn favorite Author, turned out to be the man I felt attracted to, from the club. And now, with his looks, and the way he looks at me, I think I am going to lose it!
Also… what was that desiring feeling, from his body contact with mine?
Dear Harlequin and other amazing publishing agencies of eros, just what have you done to me?
Why do I want to give this insane man my all!
“I-I’m honored, Mr. Colton.” I said in a cheesy smile, before aiming to withdraw my hands. But he won’t let it go.
My eyes instantly bolted, at the dramatic handshake. I squeezed it, twisting for him to let go. But he didn’t.
“Hm-hm.” Boss Regina cleared her voice. It was definitely to give a hint. I smiled at him, hoping he would read it.
“Let’s begin work then.” he constructed, before standing up and moving his hands up to my wrists in a hold.
“Ahaa, hahaha.” Boss Regina laughed. “I see you’re getting familiar with our junior editor!”
I stood timidly on my spot, just beside him. He towered over me, and I was just like a peanut. Bit sized…and peanuty. Okay…was that even a word?
“Ah yes. How about we start with 5 million dollars if this deal goes well?” Colton suddenly let out.
I swallowed, widening my eyes.
So did Boss Regina and Editor Cullen, on their spots.
“W-what?” I stammered.
“Yes what?!” They both said in unison at Colton.
“Isn’t that enough?” he asked.
“O-Of course not. Deal! Haha it’s very much enough. I’ll go fetch our lawyer for the paperwork, while you tell Rias, about your editing plans.” Boss Regina said. “Come with me, Cullen.”
“Yes ma’am.” he answered, as they rushed out the conference room, slamming the door.
“Finally, some privacy to ourselves.” he smirked, saying.
I immediately pulled my wrists out of his hands, moving at least five feet apart from him. So, I didn’t lose control over my hormones.
“Are you stupid?”
“What do you mean, my love?” he said, straightening his black overcoat, with a cheesy smile.
“Who offers that amount just to edit a book?”
I expected his reply then and there. However, he walked towards one of the conference chairs, settling on it, like some boss.
“Darling, I make more than that amount per day.”
“From what, drugs? Are you some mafia lord I should be staying away from?” I spat out. “Why did you show up last night and today, at my office of all places? Are you stalking me?”
Why me? A horrible nerd who was clumsy and so unintelligent?
“I assure you that I’m legal in all my indulging, my dear. And, last night was definitely a coincidence.” he retorted.
I watched as he stood up, stretching out a chair for me to sit. I narrowed my eyes at his gesture? There was this… thing about him I couldn’t lay my hands on.
He was highly mysterious…
“Why don’t you take a seat and we start all over again, Rias?”
5 million dollars.
I simply reminded myself that he intended to pay that amount to my company. And I couldn’t blow it off, if not I was as good as dead in the hands of Boss Regina.
Thus, I moved meekly in my navy-blue corporate heels, sitting down on the chair he pulled out.
“Hi, I’m Colton Stone, popular Writer of several best-selling books.” he let out wolfishly.
Colton, why do I feel like eating your entire face out? You look so illuminately attractive; my eyes could dim from the brightness!
“Rias Gremory, the unnoticed and unskilled editor of Zeguin Publishers.”
I took the hands he outstretched. And that was my mistake, because once again, the burning sensation of wanting flared my insides from the contact. I was quick to untangle my hands though, staring at curiosity into his warm blue eyes.
“Nice meeting you, Rias. Shall we begin?” he tauntingly asked.
“S-sure!” I nervously let out. My heart was beginning to race at the unfamiliarity of this male.
Dear Cupid, is this your own way of trapping me?
“Pardon me, Rias. But I have to do this.” he stood up suddenly saying.
Colton pulled me up with him too, rotating me into his grasp, with my violet gown twirling at the impact.
“W-what a-re you…”
“Shh.” he sinfully breathed out.
I begun wandering if one of the novels scenes I read had come to live, when he crashed his lips into mine. And, I didn’t resist one bit.
Instead, I breathed in his cologne which intoxicated me, combined with his after-shave scent.
I wondered if I was being seduced…
“W-we need to stop,”
I muttered, however my hands spread more around his broad shoulders. I could feel them, even from the over coat, that I wondered what they would be like, without them on.
“I know... but I can't stop. Something about you sets me off edge, Rias," he purred into my ears. His tone, warm, with the heat from his mouth caressing my ear.
Why was my sixth sense being thrown away?
His lips dominated mine, sinfully twirling with my tongue. I returned the gesture, imitating him. Colton’s large palms clenched the sides of my head, ferociously kissing me with all seriousness.
“We really really, need to stop…” I pleaded, as he lifted me up, on the conferences, table. His overcoat went sideways and I noticed his hardness.
“Colton…!” I cried out, from the intensity of it all. My hands pulled him nearer as I craved more. But something told me this was only as far we could go.
I heard him growl out. My goodness, male moans were such a turn on!
Hold on was that a moan or a growl? What was he! Some animal?
“With that violet linen dress and lip gloss, you are so tempting, Rias," he desperately said, while I heaved fast impatient paces at how his words affected me deeply.
"W-What do you mean?"
“I want you to be mine, Rias. I want to cherish and protect you badly.”
