Physician Wolfe ran to his laboratory opening his secure cupboard and grabbed three boxes. “James, grab the rest of these please, and make your way directly to the battlements,” he shouted to his assistant. The pair of physicians worked together, with great precision and speed, almost as if they had practiced repeatedly for this very occasion. The truth was, they had, in the night hours when the palace slumbered. Exiting the laboratory out the secret back exit which lead to the small, steep, spiralling stone staircase, they climbed the five floors to the top of the eastern tower.
