When Love Takes a Detour

The Open Road Beckons - Chapter 2

I wake up hearing some rummaging around me. I open my eyes seeing ivy putting some clothes in a bag. She looks up at me and hives a coy smile. "Sorry, did i wake you?" She whispers.

"No, its fine. What are you doing?" I whisper "and why are we whispering?" I look around "Liv is still knocked out. I didn't want to wake you guys" she indicates with her chin toward a pile of plankets on the ground. I look closely and a see a mop of blond hair.

"Why's she on the floor?" I say confused "she said she wanted to be close to us" ivy shrugs.

Oh yeah. I remember now.

After whe drank the bottle ivy brought we talked for hours then we went to sleep. Liv was supposed to sleep in the guest bedroom and ivy and i was gonna sleep in my room.

It made sense because i had a queen size and theres a single bed in the guest bedroom.

I get up "what time is it?" I go to the window. It still looks dark outside. "Its 4am. Later than what we planned to wake up but still early enough that we will get to cabin with enough time to explore." She whispers.

I turn to look at her shes still busy with her bags "I already took a shower so im gonna get started on breakfast. We dont want to get on the road with empty stomachs. It's a long road to our destination."

She gets up and goes to the door "Okay thanks, ill wash up too" i say to her. "Can you wake up Liv when youre done. She went to sleep the latest so i want togive her more time to rest." She says walking down the hallway with me behind her turning the other side on my way to the bathroom

"Yeah sure" i say stepping into the bathroom.

I finish my shower, dry myself and put some lotion on. After i finish dressing i make my way to the bedroom. I hear rustling in the kitchen.

Then i hear ivy and livs voices, instead of goung to the room i head to the kitchen.

Ivy and liv are sitting there eating breakfast.

"Hey, i was just about to wake you up" i greet liv. "Morning, the smell of bacon was all i needed to get up. How'd you sleep ivy says you kept tossing and turning."

Liv says with a piece of bacon in her mouth. "Oh no im fine. I overdid it with the stairs. My hamstrings were acting up but their fine now" i sit next to liv. Ivy places a plate of food infront of me. I smile and thank her.

"I should be asking how you slept considering you slept on the ground" i pick up a sausage and take a bite "I slept like a baby. I haven't slept like that in years. Maybe it's cause i was close to my best friend." She says cheerful. I smile and ivy chuckles

"Yeah maybe. You guys should finish eating we have to be on the road soon." Ivy says while finishing the last dishes "Aren't you gonna eat?" I ask "i already did while you were in the shower" she takes of the apron.

We finish eating, i help ivy pack the bags while liv takes a shower. After shes done she helps us. "Okay, that looks like all of it" i say "Yeah looks like it. Whose driving first?" Liv says "I'll take the first round" i say.

"Lets go then" ivy says. Whe get i to the car. Ivy sitting next to me and liv at the back. "Ou guys ready?" I say. We turn to each other and giggle.​
