She lied a lot whenever she claimed to have slept peacefully at night for the past months. She did sleep some night just a bit or it was she either stayed up the entire time.
Her sleep schedule was far beyond messed up—it was hardly there. And like most nights she had struggle sleeping today too, all the turning and tossing in her bed till around one in the morning she had enough of it.
How could someone go to bed at eight and still be awake at one, not tired or any bit of sleep prominent. For a good five minutes after that she was debating whether to call Avra in the middle of the night to talk and just hear her voice—or to head up to the rooftop and stargaze alone.
She wanted Avra though but she was probably sleeping at this hour and it would be invading her personal space—right?
She had already dialed her number and was anxiously waiting for her to pick up, from one ring to two then three—
She picked up.
“Hello?” Avra’s voice rang through her phone speaker for the second time. Sheen was frozen, Avra was clearly sleeping and she had woken her up—she felt horrible, she just wanted to cut the call then and there but Avra’s worried voice didn’t let her.
“Sheen are you alright?”
Placing the phone over her ear she spoke. “Am I bothering you?” of course she knew she was, she could clearly hear the sound of her getting out the bed then switching on the light.
“No at all, what’s wrong?” Avra asked again, this time she sounded a bit more awake and aware.
“I can’t sleep just wanted to talk.” she mumbled. Hearing nothing from the other end she quickly added. “It’s late and foolish, nevermind—”
“I don’t mind. I’ll be there in ten minutes.” Avra hanged up not giving her a moment to deny anything—talking on the phone would have just alright, she didn’t have to come.
But she was she was. She missed her the past three days and wouldn’t see her a another three—her visit would mean a lot more than she would assume.
For the past three days since Sunday Avra had been occupying her mind—the numbers of times she had to stop herself from calling her at random morning or evening was insane.
And now she had been waiting on Avra outside, seated on the cement steps of her apartment building she was staring at the night sky. It wasn’t filled with stars liked most nights she star gazed just a few here and there some clouds and a half moon.
The neighborhood was quiet given everyone was asleep and indoors, those cars that cruised down the street from daybreak to dusk—quietly parked at each side of the road narrowing the width of the road.
“The sky is pretty don’t you say.”
Staring at the source of the voice Sheen held herself back from running into her arms, she just moved to the side creating a place for Avra to sit.
Throwing the blanket she had around her body over Sheen’s legs she then sat down, the two had been sharing a blanket at one in the morning in front of an apartment—so romantic.
“I’m really sorry for waking you up for this.” Sheen apologized again staring at Avra.
“Are you though?” Avra raised a brow questioning her, Sheen shook her head no matter how hard she tried she didn’t feel bad for calling and waking her up—for being selfish but she was happy about it, she liked it.
“And like I said I don’t mind—though I should have stated whenever you need me I’m around had a curfew.” Avra seriously stared into Sheen’s eyes and said that—she would have believed her if she hadn’t started laughing.
Of course it was a joke and Sheen laughed as well, at relief more than finding the joke funny.
“I like when you laugh.”
With her thumb she caressed her left cheek—she had been so lost in her thoughts as her thumb continuously stroked her skin, from caressing her skin she took the strand of hair covering her eyes behind her ears.
She loved Sheen’s light brown eyes even if they were barely as vibrant in the day—they still were pretty and a sight for sore eyes.
“Avra?”
Pulling her hand away she hummed in response—she had taken it a bit far and got lost but she didn’t want to make Sheen uncomfortable.
That was barely what Sheen was thinking though—uncomfortable? Please she had gotten a bit too comfortable—very comfortable as no second later when Avra moved her hand she kissed her.
A milliseconds that felt like an eternity before she pulled away then looked at her right, furiously blushing of embarrassment.
Stupid. Was the word going around her mind at moment, it wasn’t the time or place to do that and with Avra’s silence maybe she should apologize and forget about it.
Yeah apologize then forget about it.
Turning her head she intended to slip a quick apology then run to her apartment but meeting Avra’s lips again wasn’t what she thought would happen—again.
This time Avra kissed her, she kissed back. Placing her hand over Avra’s shoulder she let her lips move with Avra’s.
It was a collision of emotions that swelled up inside her—she liked them and there was no doubt she liked Avra much more than a crush.
Rhythmic breaths—they pulled apart—both catching their breath as their chests slowed moved up and down.
Staring into her eyes, Avra quickly pecked her lips again. “I like you like that too.” the young night ahead of them both, hands intertwined held in the night just by eachother nothing could be better than that moment.
A huge leap into their friendship—relationship?
