Avra had been glued for the past five minutes staring at Sheen as she sketched in her sketch book. She was seated on the floor ignoring every presence—hers included—even that of the hyperactive furry friend jumping around her, from moving from her laps to feet to her back—Sheen still didn’t give him the attention he was begging for nor did she mind little puppy. As she recalled his name was Deimos and belonged to Mars—Mars and Deimos—as to Mars no other name would have suited the puppy, it had to be inline with her name and no way was she picking Venus, Jupiter, Neptune, Saturn, Mercury or Uranus. Avra had suggested the name herself right after Mars suggested Luna— stating the name was gender neutral. It was either Luna or Deimos and Deimos won with a one to two ratio—the two being from Avra and Sheen to name her Deimos. Mars did complain the voting was unfair as Sheen would obviously side with Avra—she wasn’t wrong but she did like the name more and found it suiting. Just like the Roman god of war, Mars—Deimos was his son as well as Phobos, what more suiting name than that—and Deimos and Phobos being the outermost and innermost natural satellite of the planet Mars, it obviously won. Not giving in to defeat. She still named him Luna as her exact words were ‘the owner chooses’, reasonable right? No, not really because Mars begged them both to help with names for their suggestion to be thrown out the window. “Fine his middle name can be Luna. . .” Mars mumbled carrying her puppy to her room for a little nap time, hers mostly—in a span of ten minutes after they left Deimos was back in the living room with them, well mostly attaching herself to Sheen. Mars hadn’t showed up again—her naps usually lasted hours—they wouldn’t be seeing her anytime. Disregarding the presence of dog around Sheen, Avra had diverted her gaze on something—someone else. It was Sheen, just like name she was radiant, good-looking, beautiful—everything in between accordance with the naming of her name. Whenever she drew or talked about something she loved she did radiant happiness. It was all from the way she smiled, laughed or the glint in her eyes. Her light brown eyes were her best beautiful feature, whenever the light rays hit them they were stunning—enveloped with emotions each time, the vibrant colour taking it full form well apart from times her eyes would soon narrow down whenever she was blinded by the light, she looked cute trying to block the light— a moment of beauty still. Even in the moment as she stared at her lightly gripping onto the pencil she had on a smile. Deimos hadn’t given given up though, climbing onto her lap he continuously barked—it was a little tiny bark, soft and cute—and he succeeded. Resting the pencil on the floor she gave him her full on attention, her hand over his tiny frame she began rubbing his furry head, he liked it as he wiggled his tail. She didn’t move him from her lap simply continued to run her hand through his fur using her left hand—then with her right resumed to sketch. He didn’t move just simply sat there comfortable—such a lucky puppy—that should have been her getting all her affection but for the last couple of minutes Sheen hadn’t given her any attention though. She wasn’t jealous—most definitely not from a dog she had known for a day—half day to be exact. But they looked so cute. Sheen looked so cute in her shirt and shorts with a cute—attention stealing—puppy on her lap, hair pulled back into a bun. The episode she was on had ended rolling up the credits, she would have known that if she had watched it at all. “Close your mouth.” Mars grabbed the remote from the couch pressing play on the next episode. Sheen giggled, looking over at Avra for the first time in a while she stared into her eyes for a brief moment before taking her attention on Mars, knelt down taking the puppy into her arms. Deimos was asleep that explained the silence—it was Just two of them in room again. “I was sitting over there and couldn’t help but notice you staring at me—that’s a little creepy ma’am.” Sheen spoke taking a seat beside Avra—her sketch book closed and laying on top of the table with the pencil beside. Interlocking their hands. “Couldn’t help it you are beautiful.” she said with a smile. “Oh really?” Moving her body closer—a mere inch was left between the two of then, she hadn’t exactly leaned into kiss her rather the opposite—she pulled back. “Definitely, you are the most beautiful woman I have laid eyes on.” A second attempt—Sheen pulled away from the near kiss Avra almost placed on her lips. In deep blush she had her hand over her face, it just made Avra giggle before placing a peck on her cheek—she blushed even harder. “What are we watching.” Sheen managed to ask after a few minutes of calming herself down though still unable to look Avra in the eyes, she knew she had a smirk on her face. “Sheen?” She just hummed but didn’t at her just the hand on her left knee, dangerously getting higher and higher. The mistake was to look over at Avra in that moment because she wanted it, too. “You’re not f*****g here, get a room!” Mars startled them, pulling apart hide her face with a palm blushing of embarrassment—Avra didn’t though as she continued to stare at the screen like nothing happened while still caressing her inner thigh. Sheen smacked her hand away glaring at her. Avra’s mouth a simple ‘what?’ before breaking out in a fit of giggles at Sheen pointed staring at Mars then her—the girl had no shame. Walking back into the room with drink she stared—more like glared at the couple—“Get a room.” and up the stairs she went. Sheen was still glaring at Avra—her pouting didn’t work on her as she still smacked her hand away neither did the sorry’s. “Sheen!” Avra whined nuzzling her neck, repeated she had been placing kisses on her neck and apologising and she still wasn’t having it. “I said I’m sorry, I really am I swear.” “I’m angry.” “You’re cute.” Avra lightly pinched her cheek. Sheen didn’t look angry at despite creasing her forehead and pouting—it was the opposite. “Avra I’m upset with you!” she whined smacking her hand away from her cheek. “Me? But I said sorry.” “Yeah and that does not mean I will forgive or—” cutting her rant short Avra kissed her, briefly then pulled back—leaned in again for another kiss then pulled back. About three times until Sheen held her shirt stopping her from pulling back deepening the kiss. She knew Avra wore a triumphant smirk so she pulled back. “I’m still upset.” Avra nodded in agreement making Sheen smile before pulling her lips back on hers.
