Chapter V: "Blanket"

624 Words
We were in our second year of college at PUP Lopez Quezon, and we were four friends in the same class. We had different boarding houses that we rented, so we frequently slept at my friend's boarding houses, especially when we had overnight projects to complete or just to hang out. I am the youngest of the four; I had a boyfriend for three years, and we were frequently together, sleeping at friends' houses or boarding houses. We frequently hang out at my friend's girls' and boys' boarding houses, which are just a few minutes' walk from the school; their boarding house is one of the oldest in the area. Each bedroom's doors face each other, and there are bunk beds that also face the bedroom door. My friend's room is at the very end, and it's so dark that you can't see anything if the light isn't turned on. I've been noticing and feeling something at my friend's boarding house for a long time, but I can't see it much because most corners of the house are dark, but it's clear to me that it's giving off a very bad energy, which I know because I've seen ghosts, elements, and nightmares since I was a child. On that Friday night, my friend asked if we could accompany him to the boarding house to sleep because he couldn't go home yet and it was just a coincidence that he would be left there alone. So my boyfriend and I agreed to accompany him. When night fell, there were two bunk beds available. My boyfriend and I used one of the beds. Our feet were facing the door. All of the lights are turned off, and only a small amount of street light illuminates the room, allowing you to see the appliances inside. It wasn't late at night, but I couldn't stand it any longer; there were so many noisy cats and children talking that I could almost understand what they were saying. My boyfriend was asleep as I rolled around in bed. I'm only wearing a shirt and shorts. Because the bed is too small for my boyfriend and me, every time I move, he appears to be about to fall off the bed. I felt like my blanket was about to fall off, so I narrowed my eyes at it. My blanket seemed to fall off again at some point, so I pulled it back. I decided not to move because I was afraid my blanket would fall again. Someone later appeared to be pulling on my blanket; I looked at my boyfriend, thinking he had awoken, but he was still sound asleep. I closed my eyes again, thinking he had just unconsciously pulled, when a large hand suddenly grabbed my foot and pulled my blanket. When I opened my eyes, I saw the face of a buffalo-like demon staring back at me. He has two short horns, and his eyes look like a buffalo, but his body is formed like a man with huge arms. It was so scary that it startled me really bad. I was so terrified that I shivered and closed my eyes. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't. My boyfriend was woken up as I was struggling and trembling. He tries to speak to me, but I don't respond. He hugged me tightly until I calmed down. That's when I brought up the word "demon." There is a demon. We didn't get to sleep until the next morning. One of the things that has strengthened my faith is my fervent prayer. PS. My boyfriend and I are no longer together, so while I'm writing this, I'm alone in the two-story apartment at 22:11 p.m. Good night. Kira.
