Rejected then Royally Loved

Training Day

“It’s only been an hour and you are all tired.” I say as I lean against my tree after our run.

Last night, was the best night of my life. I had my first date and it was a dream. We talked and danced the night away. Then Lucas came home with me and we slept snuggled up next to each other.

It has been so hard to keep our hands off each other. It is like our bond is driving us to mate. We held our own though. We knew we could not do it yet. Tonight will be the night.

I have decided to join Lucas and his high ranked team for training. I am running it today and we only ran 10 miles. I mean we are wolves for crying out loud. They are all panting and sweaty and on the floor as if they just ran 50 miles.

This was sad. Normally a ten mile run should have been a walk in the park for the high ranked members. No wonder they had issues trying to catch me. The only ones not in the training at the moment were Lucas and Fitz because they were in a meeting this morning.

“How is it going?” Lucas asked me and I gave him a glare.

“They all suck. I am scared to see your warrior’s shape.” He sucked in a breathe and smiled.

“Well, how about training them as well?” He says with a sly smile

“First things first, same rules apply. I will train them today and see how they do. When we get back if they are easy to train, I will do it.” I say to him.

“Of course, babe.” He says and plants a kiss on my lips.

“And I make them focus on stamina first before anything else.” He nods and goes silent. Next thing I know, all the warriors were here.

“What’s up? All we were told was a to be here.” Fitz says and I smiled.

“For today, Emma will be training you all.” Lucas informed them.

“Today, I will be testing you. If I decide you are all not teachable and hopeless, I will not train you.” I smiled and stretched.

“Most of you have dealt with me already this past year, you all suck on team work and stamina.” I state and I spare no feelings. I can’t.

“So what we are going to do is run. Every last one of you, including your prince and his ranked team. We will run to my property. Then we will run the obstacle course on my property. I have hidden cameras already in place and if anyone of you quits before you can beat me then we continue until you drop from exhaustion.” The clearing went silent as they all stared at me.

“Who are you?” Asked a warrior.

“You will know soon enough. Now, as a pack you need to trust each other and work as one. We will run in human form to my home. Then we will run the obstacle course. You have to chase me on the obstacle course and try to grab the bandana that will be tied to my leg. You can use any means to grab the bandana as long as I don’t get severely injured or killed.” I hold out the bandana and showed it to the group. The bandana is red so it will be easy to see against my white fur.

“The course we will be running is for both wolves and humans. It is massive and expansive. It usually takes me about 30 minutes to complete. All of you will be in human form while I am in my wolf since it will be easier to spot me.” They all laugh and I smile, Lucas is smirking at them.

“Don’t underestimate her.” He says

“All right, let’s go.” I start running towards my house. This will be about 10 miles. I am laughing at the groans I hear from the ranked members who just did 10 miles.

We get to my house, I am open the gate and start running towards the obstacle course. I have it about a 5 minute run from my house. One of the reasons I am glad I have so much land. I wanted to be able to train they way I want to.

Once we got to the obstacle course, I explained the rules again. I tie the bandana loosely against my ankle. I take a deep breath before revealing myself to the group. I shift. Many start gasping and lunging at me. I just dodged them and sat quietly. My wolf emerald was smirking.

“This is my mate, your luna, and might be our new trainer. Do not disrespect her.” Lucas growled out clear with authority and warning.

“I asked her to be here since she single handedly took out the strongest rogues I have ever faced the other night. Saving my life while all of you were too slow.” He adds and shame fills the air. I sigh.

I walk over to Lucas and snuggle against him. I truly love this man.

“So when do we start?” Fitz asked and I wink before taking off, leaving them confused before the crashes and sounds of their pursuit going through the course.

I took the head start and started going through the course like I am used to. Some parts of the course have areas where you can’t see where the other person is. I did this intentionally. Never thought I would actually use it one day.

“Where the hell did she go?” Fitz screams and I smirked. Lucas was looking everywhere trying to spot me. I have blocked him off just a bit. But I know it is a matter of time. Since our bond is so strong.

“Remember she is a top tracker and hunter. Let’s work together. This is what she means. We all just went ahead without a plan. We need to focus and work together to catch her. She has the advantage her. She knows the course. So let’s work through the course and find where she can be.” Lucas says.

All of the sudden it is like a lightbulb went off in all of their heads. They started working together. They completed the course in an hour and a half. Then when they pass me again for the fifth time, I came out and passed them with my speed and completed the course.

No one was able to catch me but they were close. They almost had me. Maybe they can learn. I wouldn’t mind doing this again. Even though not six hours. So I will have to stop for today.

“Is there a punishment for surrendering?” Fitz asked and I held back a growl. For the number one pack, they were lazy.

“We don’t quit” Lucas states firmly and got a yes Alpha from everyone. I came out of the dark corner.

“You all did great, but you lost.” I say and Fitz jumps and screams like a girl. I love scaring him like this. He is just too easy to catch.

“Why me, Why do you always do this to me Emma.” He whines while everyone laughs

“Like I said. You all did great. I had to slow down multiple times and deliberately let my scent drift to you all. I also covered my scent. Sometimes you don’t know who you are fighting against. From now on, we will train like this each weekend and you will be running 5 miles around the pack daily. That includes all the ranked members as well. Including the Alpha and Beta.” I say

“Now let’s go get some food, I am starving.” I say. With that I led the way to the pack house. The cooks had made an amazing meal and I had a pitcher of Ice cold water to myself. For some reason I feel it rejuvenates me.

I quickly learned the names of the wolves I was training. When we get back I want to review the footage and make notes. Once I get their stamina up the we will start hand to hand combat.

As I am thinking this, Lucas comes over. He sits right next to me and put his hand on my thigh. I look up at him and smile.

“What is going on in that head of yours, princess?” Lucas asked

“I was just coming up with a plan for the training. I want to review the footage and when their stamina is up we can work on hand to hand combat. After 2 weeks their staminas will definitely be up. I am actually very excited for this.” I say while bouncing on my seat. Lucas leans over and gives me a kiss.

“I see. I wanted to talk to you about something.” Lucas says

“Hello Emma, how was the training?” The king asked as him and the queen take a seat.

“It was really good. I can work with them and help them improve.” I respond.

“That is great. I can’t wait to see everyone whipped into shape. I think we have gotten too confident and lazy.” He responds

“I hate to say this but I have to agree. We have become to confident in being number one and lazy to actually fully train not just go through the motions.” Lucas says

“Well, I think we can get them to top tier in 3 months.” I say

“I wanted to talk to you about the Luna ceremony. I would like to have it on the next full moon. By them we should be back and it gives mom and everyone else helping time to prepare. We can also invite our Allies. Would that be okay. It means 3 weeks from now.” Lucas says

“I will be okay with that.” I respond. I can’t wait to be his luna.

“For tonight, I will be going to pack my stuff up and bringing it over to Emma’s. I will be moving in with her tonight. I don’t think we will be able to have any contact but we should be back a week the latest.” Lucas states.

“That sounds smart. That way when you get back you will have everything already taken care of. Smart move. I am sending guards to your house Emma, I want to make sure that you guys are protected over there as well. Also, thank you for signing for your property to be a part of the pack. That way our warriors will still be on parkland and can avoid danger.” The king says

“I am so excited for the ceremony. I can’t wait. Emma we will go shopping and get you the most beautiful dress.” The queen says with a smile that is so warm and loving.

“Thank you. I appreciate the help with the dress. I am glad that my property is part of the pack and I am glad to be joining the pack as well. I know we will redoing it after we eat. I am excited to be able to be a part of a pack.” I say and I am not lying. So far, everyone here has been amazing.

“Well, since we are done, why don’t we go to my office and do that now.” The king says

We all get up and walk to the kings office. They take a silver knife out. The king comes over and slices the palm of his hand and then hands me the knife. I also slice the palm of my hand. We going our hands together in a handshake and starts the invitation.

“I, King Sebastian with my mate, Queen Eliza, invite you Emma Black to the Royal pack as a member and the mate of our future king. Do you accept?” He says

“I, Emma Black, Accept the invitation to join the Royal pack, protect its secrets and its members.” I say

At that moment I feel the mind link open up and hear everyone welcoming me to the pack. I felt the joy everyone had at me joining and it made my eyes water. I actually felt their joy and care. Lucas comes over to me and hugs me. It’s like he knows.

At that moment, I felt it and so did he. It was time. We have to go. The urge to mate was growing. Then It hit me. I am going into heat. Since I have not mated or marked my mate, the heat cycles start.

“Babe, we have to go, you’re in heat.” Lucas says with a small growl.

He picks me up bridal style and he runs with me to the car.

I guess my mother was not playing around when she said we had to wait. I bet this was on purpose.

On the other hand, I am about to lose my innocence with my mate, the man I love. I could not be happier.
