A Fateful Encounter

As soon as I got home, I sat in the living room and opened the box. There was a bunch of rare herbs used for medicine as well as seeds. I was beyond ecstatic. I immediately planted the seeds in the greenhouse and went back to the living room. The box also had months worth of herbs and medicine. I was shocked and thankful.

I then see the note.

ICE,

You are welcomed on my lands anytime and no one will attack you. I would like to thank you properly. I know you want to keep your identity a secret but I would really love to meet you personally and talk. Can you meet me by the lake at the top pf the mountain. It is outside my territory and no one will be there. Please trust me as I trusted you. I will be waiting for you around noon.

I have included in the box some medicine that should last a while. I also included herbs and rare seeds. I noticed the pattern of what you took. Thank you for never killing anyone of my pack members.

I think I am in shock. My wolf want me to go and says it is necessary. She has been awfully cryptic with me since I moved here.

I open up My MacBook as it is time for my weekly FaceTime call with My adoptive parents and the beta family. The always want to make sure that I am fine.

I start the call. I speak to everyone and told them of my adventure today. I explained about saving the Prince and the gifts. Drake look deep in thought and then said that I should go and meet with the prince. He said he trusted me because he could have attacked me for being ICE but he did not he allowed me to fight.

After my call with them, I lay in bed thinking of what I should do.

In all my life, I have never needed to be saved. I was not only shocked but grateful and I am not going to lie kinda of turned on.

The moment I saw her wolf I was shocked. My wolf did not let me hurt her at all and I am glad I did not. My wolf got very protective and I just did not understand why.

I went back to the packhorse and had some warriors collect some stuff to put in a box while I wrote a letter. Once I had everything together I went back to the tree hoping that she was not back to collect her dagger yet. I left the box and a note but also notice a gift back. I open the bag and I am so shocked I laugh.

I hurry back home and call my Beta, Gamma, my parents, their Beta, and their Gamma. Once everyone is in the office, I give them a run down of all that occurred tonight. We went from hunting down ICE to being saved by ICE. The irony is not lost on me.

“So after all that, I packed a box of supplies that she always steals. I am assuming that’s why she loots different packs. I took the box and then I saw a bag. It was addressed to me. When I open the bag, I had the shock of my life. Here it is.” I hold the necklace up and everyone gasp.

“But I thought she died.” Said my mother with a sob.

“She did. But she had children. When she left here with her mate she was pregnant with their first child.” My father says

“Ok, what am I missing?” I asked because I am so confused right now.

“I think it is time we tell them. They deserve to know.” My dad’s beta says.

“You are right. So when your mother and I became mates, we got a visit from the moon goddess. She told us that her descendant is a part of the pack. We are to protect her and keep it a secret. She had no powers or anything but her wolf was strong and had speed. When she told us who the wolf was, we found it was your mom’s best friend. She had not told us anything. She was sworn to secrecy by the moon goddess.

When she met her mate, the moon goddess came to both of them. She explained a lot of things to them. The goddess told us that she will have to leave the pack but her descendant will return. Except the descendant won’t know until she meets her true mate. The goddess says she will present herself to them then.

She told us that one day her descendant will come and we will know because she will gift someone that necklace. She said that she told your moms best friend to tell her who to give it to. I guess that was you. She said if someone shows them the necklace to explain everything.

They left the pack as her mate was the Beta of another pack. Your mom talked to her every now and then. We had assigned 2 warriors to go with them. They stayed in the pack with your parents. They were made into Gammas. When they died the Gammas became the Betas. The informed us her death. They kept us updated on their children as well. Let me tell you, if what the moon goddess said is true which I know it is then you just witness the youngest child.

Here is what you need to know. The Beta’s told us how our friends children have been doing since their parents died. Let me tell you I wanted to take her out of that pack and bring her here so many times. Your mother and I even thought about adopting her. But the moon goddess appeared yet again, only this time it was your mom’s best friend. She is the new moon goddess.

She is not supposed to intervene or it could ruin everything and cause death to all werewolves everywhere. Even though she was suffering watching her daughter go through everything she went through, she had to remain protected. If she came here, she could have died.” My dad finished.

“This is a lot to take in. So they are originally from this pack. Well her mother was. Can any of you explain the connection I felt to her? It was the weirdest thing. I felt my wolf heal quicker and I felt this tingly sensation in the deepest parts of my soul. As soon as I saw she was ICE I wanted to attack her but my wolf would not let me. He stayed down.

This was the weirdest encounter I have ever had. She even bowed to me and gave me a nod before she left. She was not even scared. Also get this, she shifted back from wolf form and her clothes were still intact.” I said

“Hahahaha, her mother used to have the same ability. She used to laugh every time someone had to get clothes or take them off. I miss my friend so much.” My mom says

“FYI, she was my sister. I also miss her and I am so happy that I may one day meet her children.” The Beta says

“Wait, I thought you had no siblings. What else don’t I know?” I say

“Well, I was told by the moon goddess who was our grandmother that I was not to tell a soul. We were raised as best friends. No one was to know that we were siblings. It would put a target on our back and they would use that to get her. When they moved, I was not allowed to visit her unless it was a visit to her pack from our pack. We would sneak out to her house using undergrounds tunnels. I was not allowed to meet her children but I saw pictures.” My dad’s beta says.

“Okay well let’s head off to bed and then we can discuss more tomorrow. I have an idea but I will have to think about it. I will see you guys at dinner tomorrow, I will be out for most of the day.” I say and walk away.

I did not tell them about the note I left for her because I didn’t know if she would actually show up.

Emma

I sat in the clearing in my white sundress, letting the sun soothe me. I sit back and think about the last 2 months. I had kept my sanity and had killed off over a thousand rogues.

This morning I woke up to a news article posted by the prince. The post said that I was a girl and I saved his life, and I had amazing abilities. Good thing I did not have to loot anymore since he gave me enough to last 6 months and by them the herbs in the greenhouse will be fully grown.

A week after I bought my house I also bought a little cafe. I made my own medicine and goodies from ingredients that I grow in my greenhouse. I branded everything with a snowflake.

Wolves from different packs came to my store for the sweet treats and the medicine. The loved to sit and relax while reading a book or talking to their friends.

I had people running my store so I did not have to go in. I made the jams and desserts and someone would pick it up. I always kept lots of stock of the medicine to restock the shelves.

I stood up from the clearing as it was nearing twelve and made my way over to the lake. It was beautiful here. I notice I have 30 minutes left. I lay down and close my eyes. I must have dosed off because I woke up and look at my clock and it was 11:58.

“Comfy?” I jumped up, taking out my daggers as I glared at the voice. It was the prince and I relaxes. Slowly he walked towards me till he was standing in front of me, the wind behind me blowing towards him as he took in my scent.

“I-” He starts

“Wanted to thank me? I already heard you say it the first time.” I smile, getting a bewildered look from him.

“You were there?” He asked, I nodded.

“Thank you for the herbs. I sell medicine I make at my cafe. The wolves who buy them always come back.” I said.

“The only place that sells those is-“

“The ICE Cafe” I laugh.

Wait, are you Emma? His face was puzzled and I could not help but laugh louder.

“Yes, nice to meet you-“

“Luca” he responds

“I am just going to call you Fire.” I said

“Fire?” He asked

“I have been calling you that since last night because your fur is like mine, but living fire instead of ice.” He laughs at that and we get into a comfortable position as we sit side by side talking.

“So, I have to ask, why are out here all alone?” I go still and rigid at his question, pain going through my body.

“You don’t have to tell me.” He adds quickly.

“It has been 2 months now. It started the night my parents died when I was nine.” I started, then the story of my life unfolded and by the end of it all I was hugging my knees to my chest and watching the water in the lake bubble, and slowly flow by.

“Wow” Was all he said before surprising me and hugging me tight. I breathed in his scent and leaned into him. For some reason that really relaxed me. Why does it relax me?

“It gets better. I met my mate when I turned 18. We were already dating at the time. I thought we were set and meant to be. Joke was on me. A month letter I started feeling betrayal pain. I did not know what it was at first because we don’t teach about that in school. Now they do though.

Anyways, My father found me in the office groaning in pain. Then he told me what it was. I scented my mate to look for her. I found her with a member of another pack just minutes outside the territory. When I confronted her she told me that she’s sorry but she won’t change who she is for me.

She had been cheating on me since we started dating because I would not put out. I wanted to save myself for my mate. Well, it was good for the first month and then she said she got bored and I would never be able to satisfy her fully.

I felt shattered and hopeless. I felt like my whole world came crashing down. I told her she had to leave my pack. We rejected each other. The weird thing was my mark and her mark disappeared the moment we did. That does not usually happen.

I know at the moment everything seems hopeless but the moon goddess has to have a better plan for us, don’t you think.” He finished.

I can’t believe he went through all that.

“I guess, but why does my life have to be so difficult. Why did you have to go through that. Also weird things have been happening with my wolf but she is being super cryptic.” I say

Then out of nowhere, a bright light came in front of us, and when the light dimmed down, my mother was standing in front of us.
