The bright lights of the StormHeart Pack’s medical facility made me squint as I stepped inside. It wasn’t just the cold, sterile environment that made my skin prickle—it was the weight of the situation. Seeing my grandmother lying in that bed, hooked up to machines, made me feel hollow. Her once-strong frame now seemed so small, her breathing soft but labored.
Dr. Matthews, the lead medic, flipped through his charts. His brows were furrowed, and the weight of his words hit me like a punch. "The trauma from Sebastian’s attack worsened her condition," he said grimly. "It has triggered an ancient wolf disease. It's affecting her mobility severely."
“What can we do?” My voice came out shaky, my hands gripping the railing of her bed tightly.
