Chapter 17
Having her back pressed hard against the wall, her heart beating rapidly as if it was going to force its way out of her chest anytime soon, Zia gulps down the lump that suddenly formed in her throat. Tears brim in her eyes as her body trembles in fear. Staring at the beast standing before her and tormenting her, getting scared is the least of the things she can do. For some seconds, she wish that the ground should open and swallow her, but then her heart shattered into pieces as the realization dawns on her that nothing of such can ever happen in reality. It may happen in movies and book series though, but it can never happen in real life, not when there's nothing like an earthquake.
