Dante’s POV I hadn’t meant to take the turn toward Clarissa’s street. Habit, maybe. Or instinct. I didn’t think much of it until her hand slipped over mine on the gear shift, it was gentle and deliberate. “Dante,” she said. “You’re going the wrong way.” Her voice was calm, but something about the way she said it made the hairs on my neck rise. I glanced at her, confused. “What do you mean? I’m taking you home.” “No.” She spoke softly, but there was a steel edge under it. “You’re taking the route to my house… but that’s not where I’m spending the night.” My pulse stalled. Before I could form a response, she turned toward me, reaching up to touch my chin with her fingertips. “I will be busy today.” I murmured.
