Roland’s grip tightened around the phone, Gerald’s words still ringing in his ears. It’s a trap… move. Now. His pulse pounded. A dozen calculations stormed through his head, exit routes, odds. “What is it?” Taylor’s voice cut through the tension. “Who was that? Was it Detective Parker? What did he say…?” Roland blinked, but before he could say a word, a steel baton came straight for the car window. Clash! The glasses exploded inward, shards of glass spraying across the seats.
