The sound of a heart monitor beeping echoed faintly in a hospital room as Zoey opened her eyes. She flinched, glancing off the beam of sunlight streaming in through the medium-sized window. The room was silent. There was no nurse, doctor, or familiar face, only her, lying on the bed. How did I get here? Zoey thought to herself.
