Roland froze, staring at the two guards standing by the door.
Obsidian Ghost. The words rang over and over again in his ears.
Wasn't that the name they gave to Nyx? How did they know the name? Could it be that Nyx came here last night? How is that possible?
Doubt crawled up Roland’s chest. That can't be. Nyx was only getting to the country. She couldn't know Zoey's father, and even if she did, why would she try to protect him?

Zoey who stood in front of them, hearing all of this, glanced back at Taylor, the anger in her eyes shifting to fear.
Her fingers twitched at her sides and she steadied her gaze back on the two guards.
