LOBBY BAR, ALBERGO DEI FIORI It was dark by the time we drove back into Civitavecchia and the hotel. Alana and I had talked intensely throughout the drive, picking apart what Demir had said and trying to decipher his involvement or knowledge of what was going on. We arrived at Albergo dei Fiori around ten o’clock and went to the lobby bar. Ten was an early hour for Italians, and we had adopted their schedule. Just as we expected, Tesa, Aggie, and a few of the team were gathered there sharing cocktails before going to bed. “Hey, there you are,” saluted Aggie with a glass in his hand. I remembered from our earlier life at the Tall Cedars commune that he wasn’t one for wine or a cocktail. He held aloft a frosted glass of beer. “Did you find Demir?” “Yep, sure did. Had dinner tonight.” “
