YOUR TURN

CHAPTER 2

Theo closed the door to his room silently in order not to disturb his elder sister. He didn't care about his mum because she was never home. He had cookies in his hands which he took from the fridge. He munched on them as he swayed his head to the beat of the music playing in his headphone. He knew the cookies belonged to his sister and she'd definitely raise hell when she opens the fridge tomorrow and doesn't find them.

But after all he didn't take all. He left three pieces for her. He smiled as he thought how pissed she's going to look like.

He tried imagining her face standing next to the fridge and screaming about her lost cookies.

Tomorrow is going to be a movie, he laughed

The thought of Margaret and what he saw few hours ago still haunted him. He knew he had to act fast, he switched on his laptop. He searched for Magaret Lawson on i********: and immediately pulled up her profile.

As he scrolled through her profile he saw pictures of Margaret and her sister. He got to know Margaret had a sister called Cherise Lawson. He even saw that they owned a joint blog website together which was doing so well and had many subscribers.

Theo watched most of their videos and read their articles too. They were good, he loved it. They were both beautiful and he even thought they looked alike. He scrolled and scrolled and as he did he came to realize how close the sisters are. They were sisters, best friends and everything. So why would someone want to kill herself if she had such a great sister and was living a happy life? He decided to mind his business after all he didn't know her from anywhere. But something in him wanted to know more about this girl.

He immediately called his best friend, Thompson. Thompson was the first friend he made since moving to Brighton. He simply loved that guy, he was everything you could look out for in a friend.

"Hey Tommie, how's everything going", Theo said when Thompson picked up the call.

"I'm good bro, just got back from my granny's place. My kid sister just pissed me off so badly and I yelled at her and now my parents are angry with me. She started crying playing the victim role and making me the villain. Juanita is such a nuisance bro!"

Theo laughed, he knew how Thompson and his sister couldn't get along for a second. But that wasn't the reason why he called.

"I called to ask about Margaret Lawson"

"Margaret Lawson? What about her?", Thompson asked

"Well ummm, I just want to know about her because I'm in the same class with her, that's all bro", Theo replied hoping to dodge any questions from Thompson.

"Her sister died in a car accident last year", Thompson replied.

"And the girl has never been herself since then", he added

Theo was surprised, oh he now got the whole picture. So Margaret wanted to kill herself because of her sister.

"But you never asked about her so why are you asking now. I hope everything is okay?", Thompson asked again

"Thank you Thomp. I'll see you in school tomorrow, take care bro", Theo hung up the call.

Thompson was surprised because it was obvious Theo made the call just to ask about Margaret Lawson. He was concerned about his friend's sudden interest in Margaret Lawson.

Everyone in school stayed out of her lane since she lost her sister. He hoped it wasn't what he was thinking now.

Anyways, he shrugged as he descended downstairs for dinner.

He didn't want another lecture again from his parents about why you should arrive early for dinner. He has already had enough in the afternoon about his sister. Sometimes he wished his parents could see how their perfect daughter is a little devil in their absence.

As he sat down at the table, his sister made faces at him.

Of course his parents will claim not to have seen it. He wasn't ready for another trouble this evening, he simply ignored her as he took his seat.
