Chapter Six The Hero In downtown Manhattan, black clouds cried sea-rain, traffic was bumper to bumper and blurry red brake lights shimmered in puddles. Subways flooded and storm drains burst, gushing to the streets. The ground suddenly shook. Imogen was up early the day after her meeting with Captain Harry; she’d called in sick. Rather than go into the office, she made her way to the Department of Homeland Security with the evidence Captain Harry had given her. She had to try and do something to warn the public of what Captain Harry had seen and heard, and that these tremors must be somehow connected. The taxi pulled into the curb and she glanced out of the back window feeling like she was being followed. An empty school bus blocked her view. People on the sidewalks hurried to get out
