Raine The sun had risen high in the sky and the birds were chirping away happily, singing their songs to announce to everyone what a glorious sunny day it was. This was unfortunate for Raine, who lay in bed now awake, cursing the birds and their damned singing! She had done her absolute best to ignore them and block out the sunshine; her curtains were drawn, she had thrown a blanket over the curtains as a makeshift blackout blind, she had shoved her earphones with light music playing in her ears and had her head covered by her pillow and she still couldn’t get back to sleep! Eventually, she gave up on any hope of getting back to sleep. She removed her headphones, placed her I-pod in her bedside drawer, ripped the duvet from her body and grumpily left her room; not even bothering to take
