Amid the Hubble crowd and the thick fog of the alleys, Rose ran quickly, searching for the heart of the mountain.
She whispered to herself
“I’m so stupid… how could you trust this crowded city?”
The cheers and celebratory music grew louder as the crowds swelled, but she saw no youth... until her eyes caught sight of the heart of the
mountain among the horses.
"It's him!" she shouted, and rushed towards him, then hugged him tightly.
"Why did you leave me? I was afraid I wouldn't see you again!"
El looked at the stable boy with fear:
"Yes, sir… I made a mistake, I took it without your permission. I washed it, and took it for a walk."
Rose couldn't contain her anger; she rubbed his foot vigorously.
"Who do you think you are? You're very lucky... If you weren't, I would have cut your head off!"
The boy trembled before her:
"I'm sorry, I swear... I'll never do it again."
"Just try it!"
Rose retreated to the inn, took her belongings to the stable, while the boy looked at her anxiously:
"Will you be spending the night here?"
She answered him confidently:
"Yes... and I will not allow anyone to take my horse again."
The boy brought her a mattress, and she accepted it.
"Use it."
She looked at him angrily:
"Are you trying to appease them with this? You won't succeed."
The boy sighed sincerely:
"I'm not trying to appease you… I truly feel sorry, and my intention was..."
"Good, I swear by that."
Rose smiled slightly and said
"Okay... I'll try to believe you."
Then she glanced at the boy with a questioning look:
"Upon entering the village, I saw a group of knights in silver armor
A white background… who are they?
He replied:
"They are the knights of the Eagles Castle, and the village belongs to the castle… and they are here to collect taxes."
Rose exclaimed in surprise.
"Strikers?!"
"Where is this castle located?"
The boy replied, accepting
"Ten miles from here."
Rose muttered to herself:
"The village suddenly appeared out of nowhere in front of… are they sorcerers?"
The boy smiled:
"You could say that… It's an ancient spell; the village only appears when knights enter or leave, to protect it
from thieves and bandits."
Rose was relieved and said:
"So... I can go out, but only when the knights come out?"
"Exactly… in the morning at dawn, and in the evening at sunset."
There was a moment of silence, then Rose raised her head and asked him:
"Why do you work here? Do you like this place? You're a young man with a sharp tongue... Why did you end up like this?"
He smiled sarcastically:
"I've grown accustomed to this place... I'm no longer thinking about running away."
Rose exclaimed in surprise:
"Escape? Are you in prison here?"
He replied:
"Since I was young, I was sold to the owner of the inn."…
Rose asked him in surprise:
"Didn't you try to escape?"
"I have tried countless times, to no avail… for the knights are always against me."
She looked at him firmly:
"A young man with blond hair and blue eyes... I can't imagine anyone like him."
"Leave it like that, I'll help you."
He replied:
"like you?"
“Yes… I also ran away, but I was not a slave… We were exploited by a wicked woman with devilish tendencies.”
Rose said firmly:
"Wait here... and don't touch the horse."
Rose headed to the inn without a plan, and looked at the innkeeper with a sharp, piercing gaze:
"I want compensation for the damage!"
The woman screamed:
"What do you say, N?"
Your horse is injured… Should I call the riders?
The woman said
"Why are you complicating things? How much do you want?"
Rose replied:
"Twenty silver coins!"
"Leave it like that, I'll help you."
I screamed at Rose
"What? You want me to buy a new horse?"
Rose replied, mocking the situation.
"That's not it... I just want compensation, nothing more."
"Don't you want that... I will go and inform the knights!"
The woman shouted,
"Wait!"
Then she took out a silver knife and placed it on the table:
"Take the money... and don't come back in the future, I don't want to see you."
Rose smiled slyly as she headed towards the door.
