A New Journey

424 Words
At the dawn of its last sun on the edges of the black castle, that merciless prison, I decided to depart. "I will not prolong the wait, I promise you that." I stood before the gate, and the wind howled around me. Behind me, a heavy silence that no one had succeeded in breaking. "I must have a midwife; I will find them. I will declare who I am, no doubt about that." She turned her face to the castle for the last time without nostalgia: "You owe me nothing, but I owe you hatred, and I will return." Rapid steps towards her. "Rose!" It is a worker in the castle, Aunt Marina. "Rose! Hurry up and leave, what are you doing? Hurry!" "Thank you, Aunt Marina, I will not forget this; I will return to you." "Do not return, take this message; it is the only thing that concerns you here." "A message! From whom?" "I don’t know. I stole it yesterday when you first came here. The lady hid it, but it was there. Take it and go without returning." Rose looked in astonishment at the message. "Why don’t I remember it!" She opened it eagerly; perhaps it was an answer to a question that had long passed. "What! It is the emblem of a shield and sword!" It is a paper bearing an emblem and just a few words: "The mission has been completed; it is a victory." "What is this? Am I a war victory or what. "Goodbye, Rose, I will miss you." "Wait, Aunt, say!" She ran quickly towards the gate, leaving Rose in complete astonishment. "I will search for this, but before that, I must." A few steps away, her horse, which she named "Heart of the Mountain," was waiting for her, standing proudly. Its chestnut fur shone in the morning light, and its eyes were like the long night. She patted it gently. "We will start anew, just you and me." She tightened her cloak around her back, with the dagger at her waist, then mounted her companion, leaving behind a big question about what she had lived there at the first crossroads. She looked to the horizon, to a land she had never set foot in before. "Is everyone dead? Why do I not meet anyone here?" She had begun her journey to discover who she was, but she was stepping forward without a plan. "Whether it is a journey or a path, I will find something, no doubt. Here we go, Heart of the Mountain."
