114. We Don't Need A Speech

Cyrus wakes us up. "Guys, we have dinner to go to. Monte found his mate, and she's going to be introduced. Stop sleeping on him. We need to get you dressed. Mike put together an outfit."

I stretch big and sit up. "That was a good nap. Why are you here?"

"Make sure you make it to dinner. The other three are scared to walk in on you. I didn't figure you'd be doing anything. That would be fast. You left the door open anyway." He sits heels on the coffee table. "Drogon sent your makeup bag. It's on the table over there."

I stretch and blink. Then I smile at Monte. "Mine."

"All yours, baby."

I plop over on him and wiggle. "All mine."

Cyrus hangs my dress on the door. "She is waking up hard."

"Yea she is. I don't even want to move though." He glances around. "How long we got?"

"45 minutes."

"I need to get dressed too."

45 minutes later, I sit with everyone, except Monte, in the park. It's set up for the pack dinner. We are right by the stage. I suppose that's where you put the king, queen, and prince.

Mike rubs my back. "What were you doing?"

"We took a nap."

Cyrus smiles. "I told you they weren't doing anything."

"Were you blowing this one, woman?"

"Nope. I was good."

Clayton spits water out. "No you weren't. I kept having to pull them apart."

"It was heated towards the end but nothing serious happened."

Mike nods. "Clayton kept showing up?"

"Yes."

The boys laugh and Alpha and Luna Masteria step on the stage. Beryn is wearing a suit. A light blue fully sequined suit. Completed with a sequined light blue top hat. He is so sparkly. Luna Jasmine is wearing a gown of the same color and sequins. They match beautifully. And the dress is nice. I would wear that. It's a bit of an overkill on Beryn though. Jasmine is looking all over. "Bring her out already. I want to meet her."

I see some of the warriors laughing while they look at me. Chris jumps up. "I'll go see what they're talking about."

Delta Masteria and his mate join them. I guess those are Monte's parents. I haven't met them. I've seen the delta a few times. That's it. They are dressed in full-length magician robes. I've seen granny and Phira wear those before. I glance around and realize there are quite a few people wearing them. Some are in regular clothes. Monte steps on the stage and his mom fixes his suit jacket.

Chris plops back down. "They're taking bets. Most of them believe it's Thena. I didn't ruin the surprise. I told them I didn't know."

Beryn takes the microphone. "Thank you all for coming. This is a special day. My grandson, Montego, the lead warrior for Mystical Moon, has met his mate. We're very excited to meet her. Soulmates are a..."

Jasmine grabs the microphone from him. "We don't need a speech. We know what soulmates are. Where is she, Monte?"

Monte laughs and takes the microphone. He puts it to his mouth, then he drops it and laughs again.

His mom fixes his suit jacket. "Boy, we're waiting."

He hands the microphone off and comes down the steps. They are watching him so closely. He walks up to a girl and his mom nearly falls off the stage. We crack up laughing as his dad pulls her back. Then Jasmine grabs her and they stand there hugging.

He walks over to the warriors and his dad puts the microphone to his mouth. "Boy, are you gay?"

I nearly fall off my seat. I laugh so hard.

His mom shakes her head and smacks his dad. "I think we would have noticed that."

Monte takes his sweet time walking all through the audience. He helps a few girls stand up. Then we laugh harder when they sit down and his mom nearly falls apart.

He finally gets to me and pulls me up.

"This is hilarious, Monte."

"It's driving them crazy." He walks away and I burst out laughing again. Then he runs back and picks me up. He carries me up onto the stage.

The warriors cheer.

His mom slams her hands on her hips. "You brought the queen up here. Go get your mate right now, Montego Masteria."

He pulls me against him and kisses me. "My mate." The warriors get so loud.

Beryn looks at the delta. "That means he's the king."

Monte's mom looks at him and very slowly says, "Boy, who, is, your, mate?"

He hugs me tightly and laughs. I can't do anything other than laugh either. These people are hilarious.

"I'll do it." Chris comes up on stage as dramatically as possible. Then he takes the microphone. "Thank you all for coming. It's amazing when soulmates find each other. Blah blah blah. I'll cut to the good part. The Darkburn Queen, Althena May-Eve Sage." Everyone claps. "Thena is announcing her soulmate and future King of Darkburn, Montego Masteria."

The crowd is so loud, I nearly have to plug my ears.

His mom passes out. His dad catches her before she falls.

Jasmine runs over and hugs us. "Is this for real?"

"She's mine, grandma."

"I'm so happy for you, Monte. You are so sweet and perfect together. I know you'll be happy."

His dad shakes his hand. "Congratulations, son. Your mother will wake up at some point and have something to say. I'm sure of it."

She's still out cold. Granny, Phira, and a couple of other women are trying to wake her up.

"I'm sure she's fine." Jasmine hugs me. "You're just the sweetest. Welcome to the family."

"Thank you."

Two other ladies run up on stage and hug us. Monte pulls me closer. "These are two of my aunts."

"They are perfect together."

Jasmine hugs them. "I know. This is perfect. He's such a good boy."

"Here comes another of my aunts."

"How many do you have?"

"Too many."

We get hugged again. "Your mom called me. I just got here. I'm so happy for you. Congratulations."

"Thank you, Aunt Denise."

"Everybody go back down there." Beta Tony is rubbing his face. "Hope you weren't expecting to have a night alone."

Monte chuckles. "It would have been nice."

"My son is going to be a king." His dad starts crying.

Jasmine completely loses it and hugs him.

Tony comes over to us. "It might take a few days for that, Monte."

"Maybe."

"Get some food and sit down with her. They will clear off the stage. And your mother is awake again. She's fine. I'll deal with this."

Monte and I get some food. Then everyone else starts eating. They always have such good food here.

After we eat and talk for a bit, we jump in a helicopter and go to my house. Then I lay on him on the couch. "I understand why you showed up in my resort room on Goddess Day."

"Yea. There are a lot of them. And they are so loud."

We lay in complete silence for about 20 minutes.

Then the rest of my group come in. Conner turns on the TV and that's all we do for an hour.

Then Clayton and Lila come in. "You assholes left us in Mystical Moon."

"Sorry." Monte rubs my back. "We needed to sit in silence and do nothing for a minute."

"More like 2 hours." Chris smirks. "And what were YOU doing?"

"Eating. It was dinner."

He laughs. "Yea, most people eat with their shirt on backwards."

"Shit." Clayton fixes his shirt, then plops into a chair. "It is nice to sit here. Monte, your family is huge."

Lila runs her fingers through Clayton's hair. "I'm going to head home."

"I'll walk you out." He jumps up and follows her.

An hour later, Chris falls over onto the arm of the chair. "I understand why Monte got his own place and moved out of the packhouse now."

Monte rubs his eyes. "They were all staying there for Day of the Goddess."

The boys make weird noises.

Mike stands up. "Let's go to the boat. We need to do something other than sit here."

"Where the hell is Dacious? And I need to sleep soon." Cyrus stretches.

"We probably left him in Mystical Moon too." Chris pulls his phone out. "Also, Clayton has been walking Lila to her car for over an hour. Someone might want to check on that."

Conner pulls out his phone. "I'll text him."

Drogon gets up. "Come on. We're moving to the boat. Woman, you can lay on him on the boat. Get up."

"But."

Mike helps me up and kisses my head. "We do this every time. Monte, she's going to be like glue to you until she feels more secure in the relationship. Get used to it."

He gets up and hugs me. "I like cuddles."

Clayton plops down in a chair. "I got a blowjob." The boy cannot stop smiling.

I shake my head. "In my driveway?"

"Glad I texted instead of walking out there." Conner stands up. "Let's go."
