Names and clothes

“You’re late!” Some guy yells from the other side of the table as we sit down. “f**k off Kevin, we were busy” Jace yells back. “He was probably busy marking that new b***h of his.” A group of people laughs. I don’t know If they are joking or not so I just keep quiet. “Yeah actually Dan, I was. So, f**k off.” “Wait what.” The group starts murmuring to each other. “s**t. I didn’t mean to say that out loud.” He whispers in my ear. “I’m sorry” “Don’t be,” I whisper back. A guy walks up to us. “Are you serious Jace?” He asks. Jace looks at me and then pulls the back of my shirt down to reveal the mark. “Congrats man,” he says as he hugs Jace. He gives me a hand and two kisses “Welcome to the family. I’m Nick, Jace’s big brother, nice to meet you” “I’m Kaya, nice to meet you too” He looks like Jace except his hair is long and curly where Jace’s is short and straight. He is also a little shorter and skinnier than Jace. “But did you just mark each other because if you did, you should be asleep by now, right?” Nick says as he looks at Jace. “No, we did it last night.” “That’s why Chloe was so angry” “Isn’t she always?” Jace says as he grabs a croissant and puts it on my plate. “Do you want coffee or juice?” He asks. “Coffee please.” Jace pours some coffee in my cup and his as well. Everyone at the table, which is only around 10 people, is around my age, some a little older. The ‘adults’ must have eaten earlier. “I know what fish she should have.” Someone opposite of me suddenly says. “You already know her so well that you’ve chosen a fish for her, Dan?” Nick jumps in. “Well since Jace is the shark, she should be a sharksucker.” Everyone at the table bursts out in laughter. Coffee runs out of Jace’s nose while he quickly grabs a napkin to wipe it up. He looks at me like he is asking permission to buy one. “Are they bothering you?” “Someone decided to wake up” “I’m just asking If I need to rip their heads off or not.” “No, of course, you are not going to rip their heads off” “I’m bored” “I don’t care, just go do something then.” “I’m stuck inside of you, I can't do a thing unless you let me.” “No, and now stay quiet.” “Just let me have some fun” “And what do you consider fun” “If I tell you, will you let me?” “Depends” “See that guy in front of you? The one with the spiky brown hair?” “Dan?” “Yeah him, just let me kill him. He looks bored as well. We can have fun.” “No, now stop it. I’m going to eat.” “You can’t get rid of me.” “A girl can hope”   “Jace.” “Yes?” Nick and Dan suddenly turn quiet too. “How do I, like, make my wolf shut up?” “You can’t, why would you want to shut her up?” “Because she’s driving me insane.” “You’ve never told me her name.” “It’s P’li.” The whole table turned silent. “I mean we could’ve expected it,” Dan says to Nick “What’s wrong?” I start to get worried now. Why are they all acting so shocked, a name is just a name. “Your wolf’s name means murderer, bringer of death,” Jace says. “Oh, that explains a lot.” I probably shouldn’t have said that. Everyone is now looking at me in pure terror. “What do you mean by that?” Jace says as he grabs my hand. “When I just talked to her she was talking about how bored she was and how badly she wanted to kill Dan.” “Yeah, I’m going to stay away from you from now on.” Dan quickly adds. “Don’t worry, I won't let her do anything.” “As long as she doesn’t get bored she probably won’t harm anyone,” Jace reassures him. After we were done eating, we walked back to my/Vincent’s room. Jace sits on the bed and pats his hand on the place next to him, suggesting I should sit there, and I do. “I need to talk to you,” Jace says. “Vincent wants his room back, so that leaves us with two options. One is that you just go in one of the guest rooms in the other wing.” “And the other?” “If you don’t want it or if you’re not ready for it I understand. But you could also move into my room if you want to. I mean you don’t have to sleep in the same bed as I do, I could move to the couch or—” “Yeah sure.” “Wait, do you want to?” He looks completely surprised. “Yeah. Last night when I slept with you, I didn’t have a nightmare and yesterday when you weren’t there I did. I think there may be a connection.” “Well, let’s grab your stuff.” “Yeah, I don’t have any stuff except for this bag.” “Do you want to go out to the stores to buy some clothes?” His face looks so unwilling. “If you give me the address I will just order something online. I do need to borrow a laptop though.” “Yes of course, just let me get mine, hold on.” He sounds so relieved, it looks like that man hates shopping. Within a minute he is back with a laptop. He places the thing on the bed and we sit next to each other waiting for the thing to start. “Let me clear the search history first. I don’t know who used it before me.” “It has your name on it and it has an incredibly long password” “Oh woah look at that painting there… And done. Okay, what do you need?” “My phone, all my credit card numbers are on there.” “Nah, you don’t need those. I’m paying for this.” “No, are you insane! I need to restock my entire closet.” “I’m the one who made you lose it all so it seems right that I pay for this. And don’t you dare hold back because if I see you like something, I will order it anyway. So, what do you need first.” The whole morning we spent hours ordering clothes from way too many websites. Every time I was doubting to get something Jace had already put it in the shopping cart. He was quite good at seeing what colors suited me and which didn’t. When it was time to shop for bras he got a little uncomfortable, but after a while, he was filling the cart with the most insane pieces ever. Even after I told him that I probably will never wear it he continued. So now, a couple of hours and hundreds if not thousands of dollars later, we’re finally done. “When this all arrives people will think I’m insane.” “It’s all on my name. What do you think dad will say if he sees that I bought 300 dollars’ worth of underwear” “I don’t know how to thank you.” “I just hope everything fits and we don’t have to do this all again.” “No, but I’m serious. Thank you so much for this.” “You’re very welcome” He suddenly jumps up. “I almost forgot the most important thing” “What? We have almost bought everything at every store” “I need to order some new closets because never in a million years is this going to fit in mine.” “That’s a good one.” So we ordered one giant closet and a dresser with a lot of drawers in it. “I think we are done now.” “Yeah, I think so too.” “Let’s go to my room,” he says as he closes the laptop “Vincent will be happy to have his bed back”    “Why didn’t you just put me in the guest room? That would have been much easier.” “Because we wanted to keep an eye on you, the guest rooms are on the other side of the house. If there was something wrong we never could have heard you.” He stands up, packs the bag, and waits for me to follow. Together we walk to Jace’s room, which is on the other corner of the house. As soon as he opens the door my jaw drops. The walls are almost completely made out of glass, looking over the beautiful forest behind the house. A wall with a fireplace within divides the room into two parts. Against the wall is a giant king-size bed. Jace throws the bag on the bed and walks to the other side of the wall. It looks like this is the ‘living’ part of the room. There are a couch and a tv, next to some bookshelves filled with CDs. Jace walks to the fireplace, which opens from this side, and lights it. “It gets really cold here at night because of all the windows,” He says. He walks over to the door on the right side of the room. “The bathroom is here.” He opens the door to reveal a giant bathroom behind it. One wall is, again, completely made of glass and a jacuzzi stands in front of it. The shower is on the right side against the wall, and the sink is right next to it. “So, what do you think?” He asks. “Why is everything so huge?” Jace giggles. “No, I’m serious. In Vincent’s room, everything was so big and luxurious as well.” “I don’t know. It just is. I’ve always lived this way so I don’t notice it anymore.” I suddenly hear someone knocking at the door. “Guys, dinner is ready.” I hear someone say. “We’ll be there in a minute, will you save us a seat?” Jace answers. No answer from the other side. “Dinner already? What time is it?” I ask. Jace looks at his watch. “It's almost 7,” he says. “That late already?” “Time flies when you are having fun. Come on, lets go to dinner,” he says.
