Amelia's pov Beep, Beep. I heard my alarm go off. I sat up and reached over to turn it off. Memories of last night flooded my mind. I don't know when the last time I went out and had fun. Since the breakup, I kinda kept to myself and stayed inside. I'm glad I went out, I smiled to myself. I pulled the cover off of my body, got up, and went to the bathroom. When I finished, I took off my pajamas and then put on my workout clothes. I went into my guest room, which had a flat-screen TV and some exercise equipment inside. I got on the treadmill and started walking and then jogging. 30 minutes later, I was done with my morning workout. I went into the kitchen and grabbed the protein smoothly I made last night, poured it into a glass cup, and then drank it. When I was done, I washed the cup out so I wouldn't have to do it later, then went into the bathroom to take a shower. After I was done showering, I brushed my teeth and then went back to my room. I put some lotion on, then did my hair and put on some eyeliner and lip gloss. I didn't feel like wearing anything else on my face. I took the towel off of my body and then got dressed. I was wearing gray skinny jeans, my black mid-calf high-heel boots, and a white shirt. I grabbed some jewelry out of my jewelry box and looked in the mirror. I look so cute in this outfit, I thought to myself, smiling in the mirror. I walked over to my closet door and opened it. "Hmm, which jacket should I wear? " I asked myself. I tried both jackets on to see, which looked best with my outfit. I picked the gray cropped denim jacket one and put the other back. The time was now 8:25 a.m. I grabbed everything I needed, then locked my apartment door, got in my car, and drove off to work. I walked in and said hi to everyone I passed, then went to my workstation and sat my things down. I've been here for a few hours now, sketching designs and sorting fabrics, and I was getting hungry. I grabbed my phone and checked the time. It was 1:20 p.m. I guess I could go pick up something to eat. I got up out of my chair, went to my boss's office, and knocked on the door even though it was already open. " Hey, boss lady, what's up, " I said in a cheery voice, entering the room. " Hey, just looking over some sketches. You seem happier than usual today, " said Serena, my boss, smiling at me. "Well, yeah, because today is a beautiful day. Have you ever had one of those days where you just have a positive burst of energy? Cuz that's how I'm feeling right now," I said, looking out the wind and watching the little birds fly around each other. How cute, I thought to myself. " Maybe once or twice, Serena giggled. " You know, for the first time in what feels like forever, I enjoyed myself last night." Where'd you go? " She asked, crossing her legs. " I went to this club called Luxx, which was huge, by the way, and really pretty inside and out. I drank a little but not too much because I had to drive back home, of course, and I danced and had such a good time. I also met this guy, who just happens to be the club owner. He's totally hot. Older, but hot, " I said, giggling, thinking about last night. " Should I leave you and your thoughts alone? " she chuckled, crossing her arms. " No, "I giggled. I'm actually starving right now, so I'm gonna go grab a bite to eat, wanna come with? I said, smiling over at her. " I'd love to, but I have to stay and finish this up; I'd really appreciate it if you brought me something back, though," said Serena with a pleading look. " Sure, I can get you something," I chuckled. " Thanks, you the best, " she said, smiling. " No problem, just text me what you want," I said, walking out of her office. " Ok, thanks again," she shouted loud enough for me to hear her. "You're welcome," I said. I grabbed my phone and purse, then got into my car and drove off. When I got to my destination, I got out of my car, grabbed my purse, and then went inside and was seated. " Good afternoon; my name's Mark and I will be your server today. Can I start off with what you'll have to drink? " said the waiter. " Yeah, I'll take two mango lemonades and, for my entree, two salads, but can I get one of those salads and one of the drinks to go, please? I asked, smiling up at him. " Yes, of course. I will be right back with your orders, "Mark said. " Thanks, handsome," I said, handing him the menu, and then he walked away. I totally saw him blush, too. scrolling on my phone, I soon came across an ad for a new restaurant called "Amore Ed Eleganza." Hmm, I wonder what that means, I thought to myself. I clicked on the link that led me to the website and started reading. " New luxurious restaurant "Amore Ed Eleganza " Opens today, owned by The CEO Billionaire Damon Cross. No F-ing way. I said out loud looking at the picture of the guy from the club. Damon. " Here is your order, said Mark placing my food and drink in front of me. When you're ready, I'll bring out your check and order to go; enjoy, said Mark. " Thank you, I said, smiling up at him, and then he walked off. When I finished my meal and research on Damon I headed back to work. "Hey, I got you the same thing I ordered, which was a salad, because I never got your text on what you wanted," I said, placing her food on her desk. " Oh crap, I'm sorry I totally forgot. My mind is so focused on finishing these designs for the fashion show coming up. I feel like I'm not going to finish them on time and there not good enough, " said Serena, rubbing her temple. " It's okay, no worries, just know that this is going to be the best salad you've ever tasted. I chuckled, and she smiled. " And remember, This is Your fashion design business; everyone in this building is here to help. We all want the same thing." " Speaking for myself, when I first came here I was new to the city and didn't know anyone. You welcomed me with open arms; I honestly didn't think I would get this internship because your designs are literally amazing; I was lucky to get in, and I laughed. You introduced me to the city and treated me like I belonged when I thought I didn't. And every time there was a problem with the designs, you were always there to fix them like the lady Boss you are, I said, making her smile grow wider. You're like a big sister to me. And by the way, to be a 40-year-old woman, you still look good, I can only pray that I look as good as you when I'm older, I laughed. You're Serena freaking Montgomery, one of the top fashion designers in Manhattan; you can do this I know you can, and we're all here to help. Just trust and believe in yourself, " I said happily, smiling at her warmly. " Thanks, Amelia, I need that pep talk," she said, grabbing my hand and smiling at me. " No problem, just simply speaking facts, I said smiling back.
