Chapter 14
Stephen and Amelia headed straight to the Royal Parliament to demand an explanation. They were determined to find out why the council had suddenly decided to expedite Tobias and Renee’s coronation, but more so, why they had taken it upon themselves to strip Kalea of her birthright and demand that the couple conceive a new heir.
Parliament was in the midst of reconvening after lunch to conclude their debate, certainly not anticipating an interruption from His and Her Majesty. Suddenly, the chamber's quiet hum was broken as the heavy double doors swung open, and Stephen and Amelia entered.
Old Man Sever, the head of Parliament, jumped to his feet the moment he saw them—and the sheer, simmering rage etched across their faces.
“Your Majesties! To what do we owe—”
