Ch6 Darkness

Ch6

Dillard's POV

"It's already late man, can we just get to the hotel?" I can't believe I let Aron drive. We have passed the hotel three times already.

"Come on Dillard, live a little, it's not that late. Remember when we would stay out till the sun would come up and our dads would have to send the trackers out to find us."

" We were young back then and didn't have a pack to run or worry about."

" But we are on vacation. Let's be young again. Stay up late, get drunk,and sleep with the best women this town has to offer. "

"Is that all your mind can think about? What about your mate?"

"Ok and, I have needs and she does too. I don't expect her to wait for me. Plus I probably won't be blessed with a feted mate anyway." He has a point not all of us are blessed with a fated mate, most of us go our whole life without finding them.

"Well can we at least stop to get something to eat? I'm starving."

"Remember when we used to trade places and I would tell people I was the alpha and you were my bata." Here he goes changing the subject.

"Yea. What about it?"

"Well I was wondering if we could do that one last time this weekend."

"Hmm, and why is that?"

"I was hoping to choose my mate at the ball. I was thinking that maybe if I walked around like I was the alpha I wouldn't get the pity looks from the she-wolves." He says looking really unsure of himself.

"Aron you are a good man and a d** good bata anyone would be happy to be your mate." I was hoping what I was saying would lift his spirits and hopes up but he still looked so down.

"Ok Ok, if it makes you feel better we can do it one last time." His experience of joy came back.

"But only if you get me some food and we finally check into the hotel."

"Ok. I can do that."

"But you are paying, for all this trouble." I say with a laugh while slapping him on the back.

He found a dinner and we ordered our food to go. I didn't really want to be around a lot of people so we were going to eat in our room. We finally pulled into the hotel parking lot.It was decent to look at but not something that looked like that many people stayed in. The manager was at the front desk looking mighty disgruntled. It had been a couple of hours since we had called to say we were coming.

"Great going Aron. Your little adventure has us dealing with an angry manager." I mind linked him.

"Great you guys have finally shown up. Here are your keys, your room is on the top floor as requested. I will be on vacation for the weekend so this is my assistant manager's number if you need anything." The manager Larry says while pushing everything across the counter.

"You're lucky your card went through." He said under his breath hoping we wouldn't hear him. I look at Aron and shake my head for him not to say anything.

"Thank you for this last minute accommodation. We deeply appreciate it and hope you enjoy your vacation." The man looked like he couldn't wait to get out of there. I shrugged it off and we headed up to our room. It's a nice room with a sitting area and a TV. There are two separate rooms on either side of the sitting area with king size beds and private bathrooms for both. While we settle in I call my dad to check on the pack and to let him know we are in our room.

"Dillard, I told you we got this, I'm not that old. Now go have fun and find your Luna so I can have fun with mine."

"Ewe dad, I don't need to know what you and mom are doing."

"Then don't worry about what's going on here. You are there to relax and find my future daughter in-law." My mother chimes in. Yep I clearly have interrupted something.

"We will call if we need you now you go have fun." And with that my dad hangs up leaving me standing there staring at my phone.

"Well I guess someone is getting it in tonight." Aron says with a smirk on his face.

"I don't even want to know." I reply, shaking my head. We eat our food and watch some TV. It's getting late so I call it a night. It's been hard for me to sleep since that night I found her and lost her. So I am a little glad Aron has kept me up so late. For the first time in a while I am actually tired. Sleep falls upon me fast.

Some time later that night..

I'm happy and at peace. My wolf is so calm and purring. There is a beautiful woman in my arms. I can hear my wolf humming mate. I can't see her face but the spice smell of Cinnamon fills my nose causing my heart to feel with joy.

"What's your name?" I ask her but there is no response. I decided to just enjoy the moment and put to memorie how she feels. She fits perfectly into me like a missing puzzle piece. She is curvy in all the right places and muscular

but not too much. She has a powerful aura about her and her wolf feels stronger than any wolf I have ever met. She's my equal, just perfect. This feels so real I hope it's not a dream. There is a loud scream. I look around but there is no one there. I turn back to my mate to ask if she heard it but she is gone. Not again. I'm panicking, frantically looking for her. She is nowhere and everything is starting to get dark. There is another loud scream and it fully wakes me up.

It's dark, I am in a complete cold sweat. I try turning on the lights but nothing is working. What the h*ll is going on. I check my phone, it's five forty-five in the morning. I mind link Aron in my alpha tone to get him up.

"What's wrong Alpha?" He responded half asleep.

"Get up, the power is out." I informed him.

"I'm up,meet you in the seating room."

I put on some shorts and walk into the sitting area at the same time he is stumbling out.

"What's going on?" He asked while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"I'm not sure but I'm calling the assistant manager." I respond as I take the paper with the number off the table it rings but there is no answer and no voice mail. I try again and still no answer and again and again. What is wrong with these people, dose no one believe in customer service here.

Finally there is an answer. A woman comes across with such a sweet voice it's like music to my ears. I ended up growling at here, my wolf trying to take control. What is wrong here and who is this woman who has my wolf going crazy.
