Ch7 Confession

909 Words
Ch7 Aron's Pov Dillard's growling into the phone fully wakes me. Before I know it I'm grabbing the phone from him telling him to calm down. His eyes are black so I know I'm talking to his wolf. We don't need him going around scaring this human woman and biting her head off. I apologize to the woman on the other end and try to make the situation lighter. Dillard is sitting at the table now with his head in his hands trying to get control of his wolf. I'm voicing Dillard's concern to this assistant manager because it's clearly upsetting him. I don't know why but I'm going to find out in a minute. She informed me it was just a blown circuit breaker and she was going to fix it. I turn on my charm to try and help her. There is a pause, then the most wonderful but angry voice comes across the phone fully waking my wolf up. "Who was that?" My wolf asked. I must have said it out loud because now the woman on the phone is hastily explaining it's their head chef and is rushing me off the phone. I'm now standing there in the dark just looking at Dillard's phone. "Well that is something new." Dillard finally breaks the silence. "What is?" "Not only did a woman turn your charm down but another one had the power to shut you up." He states with a smirk. "What about you? You lost control of your wolf, what was that about?" I throw back at him. "To tell you the truth I don't know, maybe it had something to do with the dream I had." He says while wiping his hand down his face. I just looked at him waiting for him to explain. He looks at me with sad eyes, realizing what he has just said and takes a deep breath. "Remember the night we went to the aid of the rising moon and I disappeared into the woods for a while and y'all couldn't find me?" " I remember." I answered back while sitting down. " I found her that night." "Found who?" "My mate, Aron my f**king mate." I just sat there in shock. "Well where is she?" "I couldn't find her." "What does that mean? You just said you found her." I am deeply confused right now. "And why am I just hearing about this? I'm your best friend, why didn't you tell me you had found your mate." I am upset at him but one look I can see all the real pain my best friend has been hiding this past year. "I don't know. I was hoping she would come back and find me. I followed her scent as far as I could before it just disappeared into thin air." "So you never actually saw her?" I asked, trying to figure out what this had to do with his dream and losing control of his wolf. "No I didn't, but last night was the first time I saw her in my dreams." "Now how do you know it was her you dreamed about." I asked hoping my best friend wasn't losing his mind. "I just know ok I just know." I looked at my best friend, the strongest man I know, falling apart in front of me. I chose not to say anything just sitting there in the dark letting my best friend get himself back together. I ponder over my own reaction to the angry cook on the phone. I had never felt my wolf needs so much. I wonder if this little cook could be my everything but it's not possible she is a human and I'm a beta. It is said that your mate is your equal, the other side of you that is missing. Could it be, I'm going to have to meet this cook and find out for myself. The lights come on while we are deep in thought. It took us a minute to realize that they had come back on. "Well I guess the girls got things under control." I say as I look across the table. "Yea, I guess they do." Is all Dillard says. "Hey, we will find her ok. She may be here tonight and your dream was the moon goddess way of telling you that." I try reassuring my best friend. "Maybe you're right, I sure hope I find her soon." We sit there for a couple of minutes before there is a knock on the door. I get up to answer it. There is a beautiful woman with a white streak of hair standing on the other side greeting me with a smile. She looks professional in a kind and understanding way with the small hint of mouth watering chocolate aroma coming from her. "Mate?" My wolf asked more of a question than a statement. Is he questioning his own instincts, that is a first. I hear Dillard whisper the same thing behind me as he is walking to the door to investigate. What is going on here there is no way the moon goddess would give us the same mate. Would she? I have heard of people sharing a mate or fighting for them. I don't want to share my mate with my best friend and I don't want to fight him over it either. Please moon goddess, don't be this cruel to me.
