Ch11
Dillard's POV
Me and Aron spent the whole day looking for these women. It was frustrating we could smell them but none of the other hotel staff would even let us get near them. We had made it down to
breakfast when we heard a woman scream followed by laughter and an angry voice. My wolf was wagging his tail in my head trying to push forward but I turned around to try to get him to calm down. But the scent of Cinnamon caught me off guard and when I turned back to the kitchen all I saw was a woman with long curly dark brown hair practically running to the lobby. I was moving before I knew it, almost catching up to her when I was stopped by a man at the front desk.
"How may I help you?" He asked. His scent threw me out of my thoughts. He was a vampire of some sorts, well a hybrid half vampire half wolf.
"Oh I was looking to talk to the assistant manager." I tell him while taking in his overall look. He didn't look like a vampire, he looked human. Exactly what is going on in this hotel.
"I'm sorry but she is busy at the moment. Is there anything I can do for you? I'm Seth, her assistant."
"That's OK, I'll try to catch her later." I said as I walked back to Aron who had the same confused look on his face.
"I think we should go into town to get something to eat." I mindlink Aron, not wanting the vampire to feel disrespected. So we went back to the dinner and got some food and went back to our room. Aron was upset because he wanted to at least try the chef's food but I had needed some air. We later tried wandering around the hotel trying to understand how so many half blood were in one place. All of them seemed to be coming and going from the same floor which was the one under ours but you couldn't access it without a pin. So we gave up on it for now it seemed they would all be at the ball the way they were fussing around and sending staff members off to get ready. If I knew any better they were running around like this was an actual pack hosting all of us.
"It's crazy how this feels like a pack house instead of a human hotel." Aron says walking up to me as he was fixing his cufflinks.
“I'm starting to get that vibe as well and there are a lot of half wolf's here too. I wonder if they knew that when they booked here for tonight." I had to admit it was weird how many half-wolves and wolves were living happily under one roof and they all seemed to be protective of the three human women. The two women in the kitchen wouldn't even let Aron near the door, the one Rebecca was really aggressive towards the both of us kind of like the half vampire Seth at the front desk.
"At least we finally get to meet these women tonight without them intervening." Aron says while shaking his head. He has a point, to say we were nervous was an unsaid agreement between the both of us. We got on the elevator and headed down to the lobby. I had decided to go with a simple black business suit with a navy blue turtleneck with my gold and black obsidian cufflinks. Aron was wearing a simple navy blue suit with a white button up, his bronze and moon stone cufflinks matching well with his brown shoes. We weren't big on the stones in our cufflinks but our moms had assured us they would help us find a good mate.
The elevator ding signaling that we have arrived at the lobby. We give each other a fist bump and wish each other good luck. I get ready to step off the elevator when Aron taps my shoulder.
"Um aren't you forgetting something?" He asks.
"No, I have everything." I say looking a bit confused.
"Um, I'm Alpha tonight. So u get out behind me." He says with a smirk. I just shook my head in all the excitement to finally meet this woman. I had forgotten our deal.
"After you my alpha." I say to him while bowing my head waiting for him to step out. He was enjoying this you could tell and I was going to make him pay all night for it. A couple of other alphas came up to us asking for help in training or to make a deal to become allies with our pack. Because of the mask they couldn't really tell us apart so I had to keep telling Aron what to say through mindlink. When an Alpha came offering that his daughter be mated to me in exchange for protection I was floored in anger.
"How dear he insults the mate bond or disrespect his daughter." My wolf growled in my head. I had to excuse myself away from Aron to get him back under control.
The elevator dings….
I was so lost in trying to control my wolf I hadn't realized I was near the elevators again. All of sudden I felt calm and at peace like I was back in my dream. The smell of Cinnamon hits my nostrils and my wolf starts wagging his tail in my head. It was coming from the elevator where a massive group of people were getting off. By their smell I could tell that they were the staff. One by one they stepped off the elevator until it was just the three humans left. The one in the middle looked excited and giddy in her white and light blue dress. I assume that is Sarah. The two on the ends looked like they were nervous and unsure. The one in the white pants suit looked like a business woman and was putting off this aura of I don't want to be bothered, as the woman in the middle looked like she was trying to coach her out of the elevator. But it was the other woman on the other end that had me mesmerized. She was looking down, fiddling with her fingers. She had on a dark blue and black velvet dress that's tight at the top showing off her full breast and curves and then flared out at her thighs. Her brown hair was pulled back into an elegant bun at the back of her neck and a streak of white hair was curled down in the front probably framing her face. She finally looks up and I am taken aback by her pitch black eyes staring right back at me.
"MATE!" My wolf yells in my head.
