Chapter 1: Everything for Love

1271 Words
Faith enters her bridal suite, trembling with nerves and fear of what she knows will be hard to forget and even harder to endure. Suddenly, the room is engulfed in darkness, a shadowy gloom that makes her body tremble and fear takes hold of her. Her instinct screams at her to run, to escape, but her heart repeatedly tells her, "This is for love, to help the man you love. Do it for him!" She hears the door open and sees a large, hulking shadow enter and approach her. He makes no noise, not a single sound. He lays her down on the bed and removes all her clothes, touching her everywhere. She could only cry silently, letting bitter tears fall. She feels a sharp pain, and minutes later, the man gets up. Faith tries to see through the darkness, but it’s impossible. She knows she will never recognize the man who just left. What she will never forget is his scent, the shape of his shadow, forever etched in her mind. Days pass, and she still can't forget that man. Her mind insists on torturing her, replaying that moment, reminding her of her misery. She never imagined her wedding night would be the worst of her life. Although she wasn't physically forced into anything, she felt violated and wretched. Her only consolation was seeing that Andrew was okay and by her side… Eight Months Later… Faith heads to the clinic; it's time for her baby to be delivered. They didn't wait for a natural birth because they didn't want her to see or know the baby's gender, let alone its face. That was part of the deal. She wakes up a bit groggy from the anesthesia. Her first reaction is to put her hand on her belly, and she realizes it's empty. She hears some nurses talking in the distance. "Did you see the baby's face? He's the cutest little boy I've ever seen, with his beautiful dark eyes." "It's true, he's gorgeous. Too bad the mother will never know him." The nurses are startled when they realize Faith has woken up and heard every word. They leave her alone. "Andrew, Andrew," she calls out, hoping her husband will be by her side, but it's only her father's butler, Luis, a kind man who has watched her grow up and is considered part of the family. "Mr. Luis, where is my husband? Where is my father?" Her father didn't know about the deal until that day, always believing Andrew was the father, which caused him to have a heart attack. He’s in critical condition in the same clinic. But that wasn’t the only catastrophe. Andrew deceived them and, with his partners, left them bankrupt. The accumulation of events led to her father’s dire condition. Faith will slowly uncover all this. Luis becomes nervous, unsure how to answer her questions. He knows about their relationship with Andrew, who is now nowhere to be found. "Miss, your father... he’s in critical condition. He learned about everything with the baby and had many problems with business. I believe your family is ruined. Your father is in the ICU." Desperation takes over, and she pulls out her IV despite the bleeding, not caring. Her only goal is to find where her father is. Luis tries to stop her, but his efforts are in vain. The anguish and pain of knowing she has disappointed her father, believing herself the cause of his condition, drives her. Faith walks with difficulty, her vision blurry. Suddenly, she bumps into a tall, handsome man, his dark and intense eyes holding her gaze. For the first time, someone elicits such a reaction from her. Her body trembles with fear, yet she’s so hopelessly in love with Andrew that no other man matters to her. She collapses, and the man catches her in his arms, calling for doctors, who rush over, fearing his imposing presence and strong character. He’s a man who doesn’t take no for an answer and owns half the country, commanding immediate attention. "How could you let such a weak woman wander around? Take care of her immediately!" he shouts, and they quickly attend to her. Faith wakes up in a room, weak from blood loss. Her main regret is not seeing her father. She also wonders where her husband is and why he isn’t by her side. The nurses told her she had been unconscious for two days. She asks who has been with her and learns that only Luis has visited. She feels deeply sad and empty, fearing something has happened to her husband, who has always been caring and loving. Days Later... Finally discharged from the clinic, she feels a pang of sadness. Despite knowing the baby was never meant to be hers, she can't help but feel a maternal connection. She carried him for so long, felt his kicks, and longs to hold him once, see his face, know if he resembles her. But that’s impossible, and it’s best not to dwell on it. The taxi drops her off outside her house, a place she and Andrew bought with so much love months before the wedding. It's her home, the only one she has now that her father is still in the clinic, and she wasn't allowed to see him. Faith only wanted to find her husband and understand why he didn't visit her. She’s confused and hurt, unable to comprehend his absence when she did everything for him. At the house, one of the employees doesn’t let her in. She argues with them, claiming it’s her home. "I'm sorry, ma’am. Mr. Jones has forbidden your entry. He said you could no longer stay here." Her face changes dramatically, not understanding why she can't enter her own house. "Call him. Tell him I’m here and that I need to talk to him." "He’s not here. He left early and hasn’t returned. I’m sorry, ma’am. You’ve been very kind to us, but those are his orders," explains the employee before leaving her at the doorstep with her small suitcase. Faith can’t grasp what’s happening. She and Andrew love each other. She’s convinced it was a terrible mistake, a lie. She sits outside, waiting for him, needing an explanation. He’s the man she loves and for whom she sacrificed everything. Her mind replays their happy moments together, making her fight reality, believing its all a nightmare. Night falls, and she remains outside, rain pouring down. Despite being soaked and shivering, she refuses to leave without seeing him. A light in the distance caught her attention. A car approaches, and she recognizes it immediately. It's Andrew’s. Her face lights up with hope, knowing she’ll finally get answers. Andrew steps out of the car, his appearance elegant as he returns from a celebration. He looks puzzled seeing her. "What are you doing here? Why did you come?" Faith doesn’t understand his question. She’s his wife. "What do you mean, what am I doing here? This is my house too. Explain yourself, love. Why didn't you come to see me and pick me up from the hospital?" she asks tenderly, trying to embrace him, but he pushes her away indifferently. "I wasn't going to see you give birth to another man’s child. It’s madness." His words pierced her heart, causing immense pain. "You know I did this for you, love. I don’t understand your complaint." A beautiful young woman steps out of the car, attractive but not more so than Faith. "Darling, it’s cold. Let’s go inside," says the woman, leaving Faith stunned as Andrew rushes to the stranger...
