Chapter Two: The Enchanted Cell

No! No! No! This was not happening. Noelle raced frantically around the dark room looking for an escape route but every time she tried to pass through the double doors leading to the hall, she encountered an invisible wall. The gold thread fell away and released her. "Lights." She heard the dark voice behind her and the room flooded with light. Noelle blinked several times as she focused on where she was. She certainly wasn't back home but this place had so many things from there that the large stone wall she had erected to keep the memories at bay came crumbling down. She lost her balance in overwhelm and slumped beside the massive bed. These were Tyran's quarters in the human realm. She could tell by the detailed decoration. The male never settled for anything less. He always went for what he wanted and he had the resources to get him even the moon. The size of this bedroom was like a small full house. It had the most impressive bed she had ever seen—well almost as impressive. She still thought her Serena Van Der Woodsen bed was way better. The bed was covered in silks of golds, grays and blacks. Her fingers itched to touch the cool material and watch it slip between her fingers. The carpet was grey and an inch deep. It felt like the finest fur she had ever touched. One side of the room had an entire glass wall which was covered with heavy blood-red drapes and the opposite wall had a series of contemporary shelves holding all sorts of interesting stuff. A Mage never revealed his quarters to anyone because that was where they kept their most prized possessions yet here she was standing in the quarters of the Lord Mage. There was a sitting area with a corner leather couch and a day bed and the large LCD screen. To the side of the daybed was a gas fireplace encased in tempered glass. This part of the quarters was sunken. There was a wet bar on the other corner. A wet bar! In the bedroom? This male had seriously f****d up issues to need a wet bar in his bedroom. Several more doors littered one wall. But all that did not beat the sight of Tyran the magnificent. The male had cleaned up well. He looked mouth-watering in the Italian suit. He was larger than she remembered and handsome as hell. Heavens, there was an aura around him that made her feel all hot and tingly inside. This male; this brute was supposed to be her mate a long time ago but his lack of emotion had her turn tail and run for the hills...well after she carelessly took down all his confidence. She was a stupid child. She didn't really care what she had done to the male or what happened after she left but that awful night haunted her for the rest of her life.  She never expected him to look for her since they had not thoroughly established the mating bond between them but in the elevator, when she turned to him, she felt the dreadful bond full and completely establish itself within her soul. She was no longer free to run away from him, an aspect that clogged her throat with burning tears of defeat. Now, the predator stood in front of her looking like a s*x god and revenge burning in his eyes. She didn't blame him but she was not to voluntarily take part in the Union with him. He could crawl back to that little hole that he came from for all she cared but she was not going to submit to him. His eyes were fixed on her and they burnt cold with menace. His perfectly sculpted body was as firm as living marble and his stance was that of a warrior. She couldn't help but run her eyes over him. Her eyes widened in alert when she saw the big bulge of his erection in front of his pants. She swallowed hard and wondered just how big he was. Judging by the size of the bulge, she was really considering nothing like the humans. Noelle pursed her lips and tried to look away but her hungry eyes kept darting back to the package.  Damn the little fuckers! Tyran finally moved and Noelle instinctively pushed back to the bed. "Get up, princess. You'll strain your muscles." Tyran approached her casually. His feet didn't even make a sound. She wondered if he was levitating. She really underestimated his powers and for that she was going to the gutters. "I'm quite comfortable down here, thank you very much." Noelle lifted her chin at him and met his gaze square. Show fear to your enemy and you've shown them the weapon to take you down. She wasn't going down without a fight. Tyran stood over head and his hands shot out so fast Noelle didn't know what happened. Suddenly she was being pulled up by thick yet gentle hands. Even when she stood up tall with her four inch heels on, the closest she got to Tyran's height was his chest. "Let go of me!" Noelle pushed against him but he was as hard as a brick wall. "Why should I?" Tyran's dark eyebrow arched up. "You belong to me. You are in my possession." "I will never belong to you like some possession! You will let me go and you will leave me the hell alone!" Noelle pushed again and this time pain shot through her wrist. She gasped and clamped it down. "Oh what? You have no authority here, princess. This is not your realm." As he spoke he took hold of her small hand his in thick warm one and rubbed gently at her wrist. Warmth engulfed the area and seeped deep into her until she thought she was going to pass out. She breathed in hard and fought the urge to close her eyes. Within seconds, the pain was gone. "What? Do you think I'll say thank you for that?" She spat. Tyran sighed and let her go. "I wouldn't hold my breath. You dreadfully lack in that area but I wouldn't have what's mine marred." "I'm not yours you arrogant fool!" She cried. Okay, that was a little too much but he did hurt her feelings when he told her she lacked sincerity. Then again, when it came to him, all logic and thought went out the window and instinct took over. She was a survivor and she was going to survive this. "You were mine from the moment you were born, princess. Everyone knew it. It wasn't due to the alliance of the Fae and the Mage but it was meant to be." A storm started churning in the silver eyes and Noelle the dangerous predator lurking in the shadows. "Fight it all you want but the deed is done. I just sealed your fate. You belong to me and the faster you put that little concept into that proud pretty head of yours the better." Oh no, he didn't. "You couldn't take it, could you?" Noelle changed her tactics. Drive the enemy out of his element and imbalance his world. "Oh, the mighty and undefeated Lord Mage of all time dragged down by poor little ol' me. It ate at you for a long time. I can still see it in your eyes. I can't imagine how your Court treated you after that little incident." Tyran flashed her a cold hard grin that was all teeth with no amusement. "You tell yourself whatever keeps you warm at night, pixie but you have no idea what your selfish and foolish actions resulted." He reached forward and tucked a lock at the back of her ear. "Thanks to you, my little princess, the Mage-Fae alliance was broken that same day. Mage and Fae have been at war ever since. A lot of good males lost their lives because of poor little ol' you." Noelle swallowed what felt like a boulder on her throat. Her entire body went cold and that cynical smile dissolved. "You're lying." She didnt recognise her own voice. Tyran shrugged his large shoulders. "I don't expect you to believe it but it is. Ah? No more smart words to say, princess? I was rather enjoying myself. I haven't in such a long time." Noelle blinked and looked away. That was not what she wanted. She wanted everyone to leave her the hell alone and carry on without her. She wanted to be forgotten just like the way she was forgotten several times in the human world. But what did she expect? She was the only daughter of the light Fae king and fae mated for life. When her mother died some years back, the Fae King couldn't procreate with any other female again. "What about my father?" it was barely audible but she knew Tyran heard. "He's alive—well barely." Tyran looked pensive for a moment then scowled. "After the Mage took over the Realm of Light, your father was gravely wounded and your uncle took him to an undisclosed location." "You bastard!" Noelle whispered as she felt tears prickling the backs of her eyes. "You cold hearted bastard." Tyran shook his head sternly. "No, princess, this is all your doing. You never thought of anyone else other than yourself. This is what you get, pixie, and it is just the beginning." "So, that's it? This is punishment for what I did to you? Are you going to exile me like you did my father?" Noelle let the tears fall from her eyes in big fat splotches. Tyran narrowed his to her. "You don't get it, do you? Not everything is about you. I didn't exile your father and I'm definitely not going to exile you. You are my mate." "Then kill me already." Noelle sniffed softly and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands. "Where did you get that absurd idea from?" Tyran frowned at her as he rubbed the runny eye-shadow from her cheeks. Noelle stiffened again but she didn't pull away. The ice had melted from his eyes and his stern mouth had softened. She wanted to avoid his touch at all cost but it was intoxicating. His warm fingers made her body crave for more. She wanted to purr like a happy cat but this wasn't the time. "You said it in the elevator." "I'm not going to kill you either. Now, this is what is going to happen. I've got some business to do and you'll stay in here like a good little princess until I return. We are going back home this evening." Tyran looked down at his expensive Rolex and adjusted the cuff of his shirt. Noelle went on panic mode. "You can't take me back there. How can I face everyone again?" "You have to live with your consequences." Tyran said tightly. "Now, you can't leave this room. You have everything that you need in here. If you get hungry press one on the phone and my housekeeper will get you some food." "My father will never forgive me." Noelle didn't hear half of the words Tyran said. She could almost see the hatred on her people's faces and the disappointment on her father and her uncle's faces. "And he has every right not to." Tyran's face held a dark mask that had a chill run up her spine. "What you did was stupid and selfish. You take this little time left to reflect on what you did this past century and then we can talk about what rights you think you have until now." Noelle felt the cold thick voice cut through every defence she had against him. He made her feel exposed and vulnerable. She hated that feeling because she knew she was strong. "You are a bastard, you know that?" "I'll see you in a few hours." He didn't answer her nor did he show any emotion as he walked to his door and gave her a side glance. "Behave." Fucking A! Noelle crossed her arms as the door closed behind his large frame. If he thought to keep her there, he had another thing coming. She knew a few tricks about the Mage and she was going to get out of there. Tyran almost smashed his hand through the steel walls of his private elevator. He was raging and he didn't know whether it was at her or himself. He snarled at himself for almost buying her false emotions. The tears were a good touch though but he had been there. He had seen it all from that female. He was the Lord Mage and what he wanted he got. She belonged to him, his soul mate and he was going to do everything possible to keep her even if it meant locking her up in their quarters.  He wanted her to experience what he had to go through for the century she disappeared on him and her family. He wanted to punish her for her inconsiderable actions. She didn't care what he felt. She didn't even look back when she fled and never once had she tried to contact anyone from their Realm ever since she started her new life. She had to move quite a lot because in the human realm, being a hundred years meant a tomb or grave somewhere in the oldest part of the cemetery. Noelle was three hundred years. She fled when she was still young and now she had grown into a lusciously sexy female but he didn't let that deter what he had planned for her. No one had ever even thought of going against him in anything. People crawled into dark corners when he passed so that he didn't notice them. His word was law and no one ever went against it. Noelle's actions towards him were both enraging and also in awe. She stood in front of him at the night of their Union announcement and snickered at him in front of his people then disappeared. Well, it didn't play out as she expected. People talked about it behind his back but no one dared to say a word in front of him--well...except his closest friends, his five army commanders. He endured it like a male and soon the rage he had for her died and cold hard determination to possess her and make her heel took its place. Then war broke out. Tyran didn't tell Noelle the whole truth of what really happened. Not everything was her fault. No one ever took notice of the green and grimy greed that churned in the King Fae's younger brother, Ron. Ron always had something to say about his brother's way of running the Realm of Light. He was cruel and wicked. Tyran felt the aura the first time he met the male and the two never quite got along. Tyran was most favoured by the Light Fae King and Ron was always overshadowed. The Fae King knew his brother wasn't merciful and humble. He knew him as adventurous, reckless and irresponsible and he always excused him for being young and inexperienced but Tyran knew better and could see the cunning autumn eyes calculating every time the King turned his back. Ron took advantage of Noelle's little action and the Mage's disappointment as a weapon to fabricate the hostility between the two Realms. The two Royal Courts bickered over it like little children. Tyran had had enough and stopped the interactions between the two Realms. All the alliance talks stopped and Ron struck. Tyran retaliated in anger and took the war back to the Light Fae. He never thought it possible for Ron to attack him without his King's knowledge. It downed to him too late that the Fae King had no knowledge of Ron's attack on the Mage and Fae King was wounded in the attack. Ron took his brother to the Realm of the Dark where the Dark Fae also know as the Jinn, the Nosferatu, the ghouls and other minor species resided. He took over the Realm of Light and declared full war against the Mage. Tyran was never a male to decline such a declaration. He gave what people asked of him and he looked good doing it. There was no other warrior that could out-wit the Lord Mage and Ron's challenge was a fool's bargain. The Lord Mage gave the wicked Fae what he deserved and more and Ron fled to the Realm of the Dark. Tyran knew the male had gone to regroup and maybe convince the Dark King of the Jinn or the ghouls to fight with him. Tyran didn't want a war with the Jinn. Though they were vicious killers; cunning and intelligent, the Jinn were also the worst of enemies. Tyran knew that Ron wouldn't dare search for the Nosferatu because they would kill him at first sight.  Their world was about to turn bloody and dangerous. Why would he want to take Noelle back there? She was safer in the human Realm. The truth was, he couldn't wait another night without possessing the fire spitting temptress plus she was a Fae princess who could help ease the animosity between the Mage and the Light Fae. He needed to force his will on her. He was by every right her mate and she had no choice but to do what he commanded. He'd paddle her pretty little ass if he had to get her to submit but either way, the princess would think twice before going against him again. The thought of having her draped submissively over his lap, her ass bare in front of him had his erection tighten as hard as iron inside his pants. This was not the time for fantasies he told himself as he reached the bottom floor and met three of his commanders waiting for him. They were all dressed in black jeans and black long sleeved T-shirts. The three males were assassins, each as skilled as the other. When they struck, no one really knew what hit them. They were as fast and efficient as they were deadly.
