New Lease on Life

I wake in my own bed as the memories come back. Im a hybrid. raised without the knowledge of who I was in the human world. I check my clock, 11 am. too late to go back to sleep, too ealry to feel satisfied with my sleep. groaning I get out of bed. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMERALD!!!" my parents yell as I enter the kitchen. "hey" I replied, heading down to the kitchen where my parents followed. I sat down and so did they.

"we need to talk." I continue. "with your reaction to me last night I assume u didn't know. Im pretty sure I wasnt bitten or scratched into being a hybrid so I was born this way. your not my real parents, are you?" I say, a little rushed from hunger. they looked at each other and sighed. mum started talking first. " we wanted to tell you, since you were small but u didn't take us seriously, but u were 3. barely old enough to truly understand. we promised to tell u when u were older. old enough to understand. but then 1 year became 5, then became 10 and suddenly u were 18" she said while crying.

"Im not mad. I just needed to know" I quickly continued "do u happen to know the story behind my parents? did they die? did-" I swallowed my emotion " did they not want me?" I asked. "ohhh, no hon! we know your parents. U know your parents. even if you didn't know they were your parents." I asked one simple question. "who?"

they looked at each other again and nodded. " we are shifters too. we lived in a place with your parents. its called a pack. I don't know how u got so many creatures in you as they are hybrids but only 2 creatures each. your mum dragon and wolf shifter hybrid while your dad is a phoenix with Hybrid. who knows where everything else came from. I guess the moon goddess loves you." they ramble. " who?" I ask. directed for the 'moon goddess' comment. " Moon Goddess? why shes god to all creatures. Or Goddess I should say. shes very just, caring, fair and she actually participates in some peoples lives. her name is Seline.

"oooook. Well next question. where? where do I find my people?" I ask, suddenly feeling very lost and alone"they all have their own territories, but u can find them anywhere"My dad answers. " which territory are my parents?" I ask. they take a large breath. " they live an hour away, in Brisbane." I smile. I know who they are! they are my aunt and uncle! clark and Mary! "aunt Mary and Uncle CLark?" I ask they both nod. meaning my parents are ACTUALLY my aunt and uncle. " why?" I ask. without looking at each other they both answer solemnly "to protect you"

after a few more questions and reassuring them I see them both still as my parents, I catch a train to Brisbane to go to my aunt and uncles place. my parents place. the parents that rejected me. I will call these set of parents bp (Bio Parents). I will call my adoptive parent AP to save confusion. I arrive in record time smiling as they are waiting for me outside by the front doot to the lobby, not that I dont know which place they live in here. I came here so often growing up, they were like a second set of parents. I never knew how true that statement was until now tho.

my bp live in a modern apartment building but for rich people. with large buildings scattered arround the large one that they stay in, with modern suburbs just past the appartment buildings. dont get me wrong, they dont just have appartments, they also have large shoping centres with everything u could ever want.its a small part of brisbane, but its definetely within the city. a city so large it has 4 quadrants: south, North, East and west. probably other territories now that I think about it. we are in the North quadrant. it been about 3 hours exploring the territory with my parent when I smell something good.

at first I think its food as we are in a food court, but its too heavenly to be food from here. "MATE MATE MATE!!!" Everyone is going crazy "what is mate?" I ask aloud. my uncle looks at my aunt and says "its your soulmate. love at first sight and all that." soulmate? I never believed in them. I believed u choose who u fall in love with, but I guess this is something else tho moon goddess gave me. I follow the smell like a demented dog until I run into a wall of muscle. "Oops sorry" we both say at the same time. " Its ok" we also say at the same time. I feel sparks up and down my arm did my ring come off? I look down and nope, its still on my index finger. That ring is a sun ring, it keeps me from getting too toasty coz my Vamp side is allergic to it. I look up and see brown eyes. brown like the dirt. like life. with hair to match. "Hi, Im Ryker." he says "Emerald." I say, stunned. "U smell delicious" he laughs. Did I say that aloud?! I think mortified. all my creatured answered

"yup"

"uhuh"

"Absolutely"

"yes"

"goddess yes!"

"Hes so Handsome"

the handsome comment went to my wolf diamond. as she was appreciating this tall drink of water with the cute butt. my parents come up then to break the tension. "so ur her mate" My dad said. " Yes sir." Ryker replied, not taking his eyes off mine. I definitely believed in soulmates now. Ryer suddenly ripped his eyes off mine and I suddenly plunged, feeling lost and overwhelmed. he grabbed my hand, obviously feeling the same way. "My Queen, King May I take my mate home?" he asks. wait! queen? king?my biological parents ar ROYALTY?! i think to myself. all my creaturs laugh. like they knew before I did. OMG IM A PRINCESS!!!

I start hyperventalating, breathing in too much trying to calm down. Im not ready, Im not worthy, I was starting to see stars when I feel sparks in my hand, my mate is calming me down. I catch my breath as My father says " she will come home with us. she is the royal princess." I start freaking out again when he scoops me up effortlessly. "Lead the way your majesties" he says not even breaking a sweat. I could swoon but Ive seemed to do that already.
