Chapter 3-Emma

842 Words
The guy didn’t say anything and took some few seconds, probably to decide. He then nodded and tapped her car two times that made Aki less nervous and she then took her time to pull herself out of the situation as soon as possible. The weather’s a bit cloudy and Aki is freezing. She turned the air conditioner off the car and she focused on the road as she drives. She cannot afford another car crashing incident. As she is near the café, she can smell smoke coming out from the car and *squeak* her car is about to break down, so she decided to park it at the side of the road. Before anything else, she got out and is forced to walk. She is obviously a little too late and as she entered the café, she can already see Emma patiently waiting for her to arrive. Her legs and hands are crossed, and is consistently looking at her phone maybe waiting for a text. Aki approached her and started the conversation, ready to tell Emma what bad of a day she is getting to ease her frustration. “Emma” “Aki, is everything fine?” she asked with a concerned, low voice. She slightly got up of the chair and waited for Aki to sit and she followed. Emma is wearing a tight long sleeve and a jeans, her small pendant necklace in a clavicle level can be seen shimmering. Her black hair is neatly tied up and the rouge color on her cheek and lips was applied in harmony. Seeing them is like seeing two totally opposite people sitting next to each other though they are at the same age. No one would think they’re friends, they themselves also did not expect it to happen. Start-Emma and Aki-flashback (Emma’s POV) All I can remember is me sitting in a narrow side at the back of the school. Yet another bucket of water was poured onto me. This is the first hell in this day, I wonder if there’s a second time. I can count the buckets in a day but not if you put them together since day one of bullying. How cruel is the world for those people who doesn’t live up on the favorite’s standards. It became my way of life and for the bullies, a lifestyle. I endured this kind of treatment since last year, never thought of making a proactive approach to stop or even lessen it since this year is the last year I’m going to live through it. It’s the final blow of college, and I know I am going to make it. “There, at least you won’t smell like meat anymore” said Christy, their group’s leader. Ever since she knew that my dad sells meat, she made it her resort to make fun of me. I bet she has no courage when she’s alone, just trying to be tough when she can’t do things on her own. “Wait. I think it still stinks.” replied Becca. Beside her is Pam. Feet l*****g little r*scals, leeching on someone, anyone that has power, sucking their authority. Sucks to be them, I’d rather be the bullied. “Hey!” A sympathetic voice interrupted the whole conversation. The four of us looked at her and thereon, I saw Aki standing in a rather confident manner, even though she is alone. Silence ruled over us for a little bit. “What? You want to join her?” both Christy’s eyebrow went up saying she’s excited for another victim, or so she thought. Pam stepped behind and signaled the two to stop. Christy smiled and asked her a dumb question. “You afraid Pam?” “Yes I am Christy. Aren’t you? It’s the mayor’s kid you’re talking to” The grin in her face started to fade and she looked at Aki, and then me, upset. “It’s your lucky day meaty, be prepared the next time we see each other” But of course I’m not afraid. They have done all of the possible bullying. I wiped the dirt out of my clothes and was about to stand up, finding Aki handing her hands out to me. “Thanks. I’m uhh, Emma” “Are you bullied often Emma?” she curiously asked. I fixed my hair and answered, “Don’t mind them, really.” “You’re soaked.” She pointed her head to the locker, persuading that I have to go with her. She pulled out a spare P.E shirt and she told me to wear it because if not, I will get sick. If I’m lucky, I’ll only have cough. I changed my clothes, and thanked her again. “I just want to thank you again Aki” “You know me?” I smiled a little. “Everybody knows you” “Really? Well, as a daughter of a mayor who’s about to get demoted from a position I think I get to be popular.” she awkwardly said.
