He walked into the ward, he saw Cobra on one side of the room, Dhalla was on the other, it was demarcated in the middle. She is still unconscious, he moves towards Cobra and smiles at him. “Congratulations, you've impressed me, it’s my time to honour my side of the deal, I'll get your sister a Presidential pardon as soon as I'm elected Governor”
“Thank you sir”
“I know you have your concerns, but the president wouldn't dare refuse her the presidential pardon, the national election is fast approaching, and he needs this state vote. We are the most populated in the country, only this state vote makes over one third of the country's voters, consider her free”
“I trust you sir” he attempted standing up to show respect, but Olowo okere stopped him. He left Cobra, and moved towards Dhalla. He touched her on the forehead, he saw how beautiful and innocent she was, she was still unconscious, she had undergone shock, but the doctors were confident she would survive. He felt guilty, his conscience was bothering him, he smiled and left the ward. He met Wasiu outside, and they both got into his car, he handed over a brown envelope to him.
“Listen carefully, Cobra has become a liability, there's no way I'll get a terrorist a Presidential pardon, I want you to do it discreetly”
“What about the girl sir?” he asked curiously,
“I'll adopt her, we are not Monsters, our compassion is what separates us from the monsters, once we've lost that, we are nothing but beasts. She knows nothing of my involvement” Wasiu nodded in acknowledgment, and left after examining the contents of the brown envelope.
