Chapter 6 The Chase

Will POV

I finally get to the Denver Den and there is a huge line outside waiting to get in. But as I am walking to the door, I don’t do lines for obvious reasons. Everyone around starts shouting to get my attention. I do the princely thing and wave and say my hellos to the group as a whole. Nothing is much different as I walk into the club as well. A vampire who seems to work here walks up to me. “Your majesty it's such an honor to have you here, follow me and I will bring you to your party who is already here.”

“Ah thank you, lead the way” I simply reply. Following her to a table not far from the dance floor. As the table comes into view I see the most beautiful she-wolf I have ever laid my eyes on. But something is different about her, her looks keep changing like she is under some spell. I finally get to the table and David stands up and introduces me to the ladies.

Hank is going crazy in my head. Pacing back and forth on edge for some reason. “Hank, do you sense danger? What's wrong?” I asked him.

“No danger I just sense something, I think its are our mate but I can’t quite tell she is hidden from me” Hank replies almost whining.

I get to the table and David introduces me to Livi, a witch that is sitting on Jeremy’s lap, and then to Lynn, the she-wolf I noticed when I walked in.

“I tell them Hi, nice to meet you!” and we all start just having various conversations.

All of a sudden Lynn announces, “I’m going to go dance, anyone want to join?”

I can hear Hank in my head telling me, “Get your ass up and go follow her!”

We are all on the dance floor and I am just watching Lynn in amazement. She is absolutely beautiful and I can not take my eyes off of her. I’m moving to the beat and watching Lynn when some guy gets behind her puts his hands on her hips and they start to dance together.

Rage fills me as I watch this and Hank howls in my mind, he wants control and I’m unable to prevent it. Hank with incredible wolf speed gets to Lynn and this other guy, grabs the guy, and throws him backwards away from Lynn. Then just as quickly moves back to where we were before.

I’m unable to hide what I did from David and he just looks at me with brows up. I mind linking him and telling him, “Hank took over I couldn’t stop him.”

At that, David’s eyes go wide, and shakes his head with no response back, for which I’m grateful.

But going back to Lynn to watch her I see a look of pure fear. She is looking around trying to figure out why all of a sudden her dance partner went flying. I do my best to hide the fact that it was Hank and I who did it. When she can not figure out who did it she shouts to us that she needs to run to the bathroom. Then she gives Livi a look and runs to the lady's room.

Not even 30 seconds later Livi announces she is going to with Lynn.

David and Jeremy both look at me and we all walk off the dance floor and back to our table. Hank is pacing in my mind and is angry that we did not do more to that guy who dared touch Lynn. I try and tell him to just relax and mention “She isn’t anything to us that you can figure out so why?” Hank knows exactly what I’m asking and all he does is growl back at me. So I shove him down my mind and put up our wall. I need to think straight and Hank is not helping in that area at all.

As we are sitting down our waiter is already there ready to take our next drink order. I looked at them and asked for the top-shelf whisky on the rocks. Thank they look at Jeremy and David getting their drink orders, as the waiter starts to walk away I ask to make mine a double. The waiter nods to let me know they heard me.

I look at my watch realizing that the girls have been in the bathroom for about 10 minutes. I ask the guys, “So is it normal for girls to be gone this long?” Both guys laugh at me, they know I don’t date or do anything with women. I’m waiting for my fated mate.

David looks at me and states, “Yes this is normal, usually women's bathrooms have a long line and they usually tend to be a bit”

Finally, after what felt like an hour but was less than 5 more minutes Livi came walking to our table. She announces that Lynn isn’t feeling well so she leaves to go back to their room and that she is going to leave as well so she can take care of Lynn. Then she turns around and leaves.

Hank then knocks the wall down and growls at me, following her. I jumped up mind link David and let him know I was leaving, I certainly did not tell him I was going to follow Livi to try and find Lynn. Hank can not determine if she is our mate but there is something about her I just can’t resist.

I get outside and try to pick up Livi or Lynn’s scent. With so many people about it's difficult but as luck would have it I saw Livi so I tried and stay in the shadows and follow her.

“What the hell is she doing,” Hank says, myself thinking the same thing. Livi is going around in circles.

“Do you think she knows we are following her?” Not seeing how she could have known we were following her we were in the shadows and I stayed back enough. “f**k it let's just walk up to her and let her know we are just worried about Lynn,” I tell Hank.

We get closer and shout to Livi, “Hey Livi!” running up to her, she does not acknowledge my shout. I finally get up to her and tap her on the shoulder, she turns around and then she changes, it's not Livi. I can smell magic and realize that Livi must of somewho known I was following her and charmed this girl to look like her so she could get away.

“Oh, sorry I thought you were someone else,” I tell the fake Livi. They shrug their shoulders and go about their business.

Since I can’t follow Livi anymore I mind linking David and tell him I lost Livi and heading to our suite back at the resort. I get to the resort and of course, i’m greeted by everyone. The night manager walks right up to me and do the normal ass-kissing i’m so use to everywhere I go. I tell him to go about his work and head to the elevator.
